The second half of the 1960's brought UA much more box office success. Their distribution of Eon Productions' "James Bond" films gave them the most lucrative franchise in screen history. They also had The Beatles, the most popular rock and roll band in the world, signed to an exclusive multi-film contract. Just about every A-list actor in Hollywood at the time was setting up distribution deals with UA based on its continued reputation for prestige and profit with its pictures. Even despite all this success, UA still allowed themselves to become a subsidiary of another corporation. Enter Transamerica, the versatile holding company with the iconic "pyramid building" in San Francisco. Transamerica purchased the bulk of UA's stock in 1967 and for the remainder of its existence as an independent motion picture production and distribution company, UA proclaimed itself as either "A Transamerica Company" or having "Entertainment from Transamerica Corporation" in the print and onscreen logos for its films. Fellow film executives Arnold and David Picker (uncle and nephew relation) were the new leaders of UA-Transamerica for a couple of years but by the end of 1970, when UA hit a temporary rough patch and announced a $35 million loss for the year, they were eventually ousted and Arthur Krim and Robert Benjamin returned to the company to help put it back on track financially.

The 130 feature films that UA produced, distributed and released to theaters from January 1965 through December 1969 are all listed here. Just like with the first half of the 60's, many of the decade's most popular and acclaimed films were released by UA.
