Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Miles "Tails" Prower
Sonic can't battle alone! He needs his trusty sidekick. Tails was even part of the April Fool's Joke back when SSB Melee was in production. Tails would have an obvious recovery move, plus maybe he could use some of his mechanical inventions to take on his foes.
Weight Class: Light
Speed: Medium-Fast
Series: Sonic the Hedgehog
Seaworth's rating:
Sonic & Knuckles - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Knuckles the Echidna
Probably one of the only video game characters who makes Pink look cool. Knuckles would be able to deal some damage with his wall-smashing punches and clawing his way up the side of stage levels.
Weight Class: Medium
Speed: Medium
Series: Sonic the Hedgehog
Seaworth's rating:
Mario Tennis - Nintendo 64
Waluigi
He would be perfect for the game. He has the pent up aggression aswell as his completely comical appearance. I can also percieve him having the funniest taunts, plus he could utilise his tennis racket and his own bo-bombs!
Weight Class: Medium-Heavy
Speed: Medium
Series: Mario Party, Mario Sports
Pokémon: Red Version - Game Boy
Meowth
Meowth has been in a Pokéball since the original SSB. I think its about time Pikachu's rival hit the stages and show us underhanded tactics. He could use his payday ability as a projectile. Not to mention all his other quick and sneaky attacks.
Weight Class: Light
Speed: Fast
Series: Pokémon
Seaworth's rating:
Pac-Man - Neo-Geo Pocket Color
Pacman
An oldie but a goodie. Pacman would put his insatiable appetite to the test but devouring more than just ghosts and pac-dots. Imagine him eating a power pellet for his Final Smash, he'd go into an extreme mode!
Weight Class: Heavy
Speed: Medium
Series: Pacman
Sonic the Hedgehog - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Dr. Ivo Robotnik
It would be rude not to let Sonic's arch-nemesis enter the competition. Being an evil genius, he will no doubt have a robot to do his bidding and maybe he could use his eggmobiles to get around the battlefield quicker...
Weight Class: Medium-Heavy
Speed: Slow
Series: Sonic the Hedgehog
Seaworth's rating:
Super Bomberman - Super famicom and SNES
Bomberman
Absolute hero. Obviously he'd have his bombs and various power-ups but get him on the saddle of a Louise/Rui and he is on a completely different level.
Weight Class: Medium
Speed: Slow-Medium
Series: Bomberman
Seaworth's rating:
Megaman X Command Mission - GameCube
Mega Man
The all-purpose hero with a malleable arm-gun melded to his body. He'd be able to switch up ammo and be an exclusive projectile attacker. Also, Rush the Dog could stop by when he is in a bind.
Weight Class: Heavy
Speed: Medium
Series: Mega Man
Banjo-Kazooie - Nintendo 64
Banjo-Kazooie
This delightful duo would provide an old N64 face to future generations. Banjo would be able to use his trusty instrument to fight off his opponents, while Kazooie can provide much need recovery support and a projectile!
Weight Class: Heavy
Speed: Slow
Series: Banjo-Kazooie
Crash Bandicoot - PlayStation
Crash
Double Jump, Body Slam, Death Tornado, Bazooka, Super Slide & Rocket Jump. Crash was made for this game. I personally prefer the old school Bandicoots mind, none of this Punk malark.
Weight Class: Medium
Speed: Medium
Series: Crash Bandicoot
No More Heroes - Nintendo Wii
Travis Touchdown
Who would have thought an otaku would make the list? Well here he is, the aspiring hitman out to prove himself on the SSB circuit. With his beam katana and his limitless resourcefulness, Travis might raise up the ranks a little higher!
Weight Class: Medium
Speed: Medium
Series: No More Heroes
Castlevania - Famicom and NES
Simon Belmont
Simon has tackled vampires and all sorts of creeps for years. His skills with his various weapons will be invaluable in his struggle with the other contestants.
Weight Class: Medium-Heavy
Speed: Slow-Medium
Series: Castlevania
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus - PlayStation 2
Sly Cooper
With the help of the Thievus Raccoonus, Sly can put his agility to the test. He'll be able to use his Crosier as his main weapon and can use his 'invisibility' to trick his opponents.
Weight Class: Light-Medium
Speed: Fast
Series: Sly Cooper
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Nintendo Wii
Midna
The Twilight Princess should be able to duke it out herself! Coming complete in Imp & Princess Form. Her Imp form will be able to summon Wolf-Link and use him as a much needed battering ram, while her Princess mode can utilize her twilight powers.
Weight Class: Light/Light-Medium
Speed: Fast/Medium
Series: The Legend of Zelda
Seaworth's rating:
Viewtiful Joe - GameCube
Viewtiful Joe
Joe will be able to use his VFX Powers to their full extent. Slowing down his enemies and rushing them with supreme beatdowns is all thats needed for this lil fella.
Weight Class: Light-Medium
Speed: Medium
Series: Viewtiful Joe
The Current Roster
Its safe to say that there will be another edition to the Super Smash Bros franchise. Being commercially and critically successful certainly makes it easy to chuck another game on the pile, so I've been pondering what will be new in the 4th installment.
My main interest is which characters will they throw into the mix this time around. With the surprising addition of Solid Snake, anything is possible! This is a general list of the biggest rumours, wishes and speculations for SSB4.
Feel free to suggest any of your own.
Note: Final Fantasy & Disney are off the cards, so don't bother suggesting them. Thank Kingdom Hearts for that. :-)
