This one is good, but weaker than the Maze Runner series. It didn't had me captured like those books did.

When I bought it, I thought it would be more interesting. It's okay and it gave me some insight into speech therapy which is what I'm studying right now.

Starcrossed - Josephine Angelini
I really don't know what to think about this book. While reading this I'd often put down the book laughing because of either horrible writing or the author contradicting herself. The title character is a Mary-Sue at it's finest having as many super powers as Peter Petrelli from Heroes.
Then again I kind of want to know what's going to happen next, but can I read another book of teenagers agonizing over the fact they can't be together? I don't think so.

It's a cute story, but I just didn't care for any of the characters and got really bored. In the end I just skipped the descriptive parts and read only bits and pieces to understand what was going on. Everything is breathtakingly beautiful and still Long describes it all the time. Everything wants to hurt Jenny and basically she and Jack think and feel the same thing during the whole book and still Long needs to repeat it over and over. Just boring.

Actually I've read it three times now, it's my third attempt at getting through the whole trilogy. Hopefully this time I won't get stuck in the second book.
I read it on german because I had them lying around and it's nice and easy to read. The book is good, very different from the film so I'm trying not to compare it too much.

As a huge fan of the series I had to read this at some point. It's good, but not as good as the series. Most of the characters don't get enough focus, probably because there are just too many.

Der Herr Der Ringe, Band 2: Die zwei Türme - J.R.R. Tolkien
Third attempt and finally finished it. I must say Frodo and Sam's part is quite boring and you can tell, Frodo isn't really the main character. It's mostly told out of Sam's point of view, but I don't mind. I think Frodo is annoying anyway.

Elemental (2012)
I read this in a day, so that kind of speaks for itself. John created very interesting characters here and reveals secret after secret. The end leaves you wanting more without ending on a total cliffhanger and I'm definitely going to read more of it.

Der Herr der Ringe 03 - Die Rückkehr des Königs... - J.R.R. Tolkien
The first time I read it and I must say this is my favourite out of all three of them. There was a lot of interesting stuff in here that wasn't in the movies. I have a new appreciation for Sam, Merry and Pippin and Faramir and Eowyn, too. I've always loved the hobbits, but in the book they do a lot more.
In the end I cried, but mostly happy tears. After three books of bad things happening to these guys and being scared and on the edge of death everything turns for the better and they get their happy ending.

The Chronicles of Narnia - C. S. Lewis
I started reading half of this two years ago and have now finished the other half. Some stories were better than others and I will say the last two (the adventures of Jill and Eustace) are probably my favourites. I hope I'll be reading these stories to my children or nieces and nephews one day.
Ness's rating:
The Darkest Minds (2012)
You know a truly good book, when you laugh out loud, cry your eyes out and want to throw it really hard at a wall when you're finished. I will say I'm really not okay after reading this. My heart is in pieces, but it's really good. So I will recommend it to anyone who is willing to go through the pain.
Ness's rating:
The Fault in Our Stars - John Green_xii
Heartbreaking story told in a very real tone with believable and amazing characters. I read this in one sitting and cried a lot, but it also made me smile and laugh.

SINNER (2013)
I founded this project on kickstarter and just a few days ago I got my signed copy in the mail. It's okay. Somehow I thought it would be funnier, but it's boring for some parts, with a few interesting or funny scenes and in the end it's just absurd. I spent too much money on this.
Ness's rating:
Looking for Alaska - John Green_xii
I liked it, but it didn't really surprise me in any way. Some of the conversations between Miles and Alaska were really interesting. I especially have my own theory to how you get out of the labyrinth of suffering. It really got me thinking.
Ness's rating:
Legend (2011)
It's actually better than expected, but at no point did it have me needing to read on and the revelations were no surprise either. I'm still going to finish the series though, because I'd like to know where Lu is going with this.
