Similarities
- One of the best pilots in their universe.
- Followed in the footsteps of his father, but can't seem to escape the shadow of his family.
- Lost his brother before the series began.
- The lead action girl has a thing for him, but fate is against them.

Ari Boyland

Flynn "Ranger Blue" McAllistair = Karl "Helo" Agathon

Similarities
- Is shoved aside in order for other people's stories to move forward.
- Has a big heart, and just wants to do what's right.

- The lead action female
- Is so good that it's just second nature to her.
- Had neglectful/abusive parents, but also a surrogate daddy that loved her like his own.

- Was engaged prior to the start of the war.
- Has a thing for the lead action male, but would prefer to go rescue the man fighting against the odds.

- A robot fighting for the resistance.
- Doesn't have a real name. Only one that was made up on the spot.
- Fell in love with a human.

- Both have a doctorate and are insanely smart.
- Worked with a machine to create a big project, and as a result...
- Are responsible for the end of the world and forced to hide it.
- Doesn't see eye to eye with the military head.
- Can't spit out their romantic feelings.
- Doesn't speak of their heritage, whether that be because they are ashamed, or just don't know it.

Note: Dr. K also has similarities to Laura Roslin. Particularly her presence and brash personality.

Similarities
- Head of the military.
- Had two pilot sons, but lost one.
- Surviving son has daddy issues.
- No one is sure why he keeps his right-hand man around.
- He may now spend most of his time in the command center, but has no problem getting his hands dirty.

- An infiltrator model.
- Has an intense hatred towards the human species.
- Has an even bigger hatred towards her kin.
- Develops a major backstabbing disorder.

- Is an immobile being that appears to know all.
- Can have several different bodies.

- Can be rebuilt/resurrected.
- Pretty insignificant to the grand scheme of things, but is still able to keep himself in a high level of power.

Drones = Cylon Raiders

Similarities
- The standard enemy fighters.
- Capable of flight.

Note: Drones are operated like the classic Raiders, but with only a single pilot.

Leighton Cardno

Kilobyte = John Cavil/Number One

Similarities
- (Supposedly) the original manufactured machine.
- Lost in the wasteland, and makes his way back to civilization.
- A smug bastard, with no remorse for anyone.
- Developed a rivalry with the favorite and became determined to end them.

Damien Avery

Corporal Hicks = Colonel Tigh

Similarities
- Right hand man to the military head.
- Is more useless than helpful due to being a drunk/klutz.
- Secretly a machine.

Mia Koning

Vasquez = Anastasia "Dee" Dualla

Similarities
- The lone, non-action, female in the military.
- Her voice is the one outside people hear the most, since Dee leads the vipers and Vasquez sends out transmissions for any survivors.
- Her final actions of the show were a huge shocker.

Note: Vasquez also has some similarities to Felix Gaeta.

- He lives in resistance territory, but is NOT on their side.

Battlestar Galactica vs Power Rangers R.P.M.
"Good writers borrow, great writers steal."

Ever since I finally watched the reimagining of Battlestar Galactica, I can't shake that Power Rangers R.P.M. is really BSG... for kids!
...If you took out the spaceships and replaced the religious metaphors with meta humor.

Characters are listed by R.P.M. character significance, and expect unmarked spoilers due to the nature of both shows.

There are only two (major) R.P.M. characters that I cannot line up with corresponding BSG counterparts: Gem & Gemma. If anyone could figure out where to sort them, I'm all ears.
