Parallels:
- Both wear red.
- Lucky is the leader of his team and Rei treats herself as the leader, going as far as challenging Minako for the role.
- Both grew up without their parents and had a traumatic experience regarding the situation.

Parallels:
- Both wear orange.
- Both are loners and choose to not connect with their team.
- Minako fell ill with a fatal disease and Stinger's species have a fatal poison in their tail that he infects himself with.

In some ways the characters of 2017's Uchu Sentai Kyuranger are strikingly similar to the 2003 live action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon series.
And not just because they both draw their powers from things in space.
Because Kyuranger debuted during the 25th anniversary year of Sailor Moon, I am convinced that this is at least partially intentional by someone at Toei.
And, while they didn't work on both, Kyuranger's head writer did work under PGSM's head writer twice on other tokusatsu shows.
Now where the heck is my crossover Toei? At least half of these Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon actors have gone on to appear in other Toei properties.
