Tomatometer Guess: 80%. After the massive critical and commercial success of Skyfall, Director Sam Mendes and star Daniel Craig return for the 24th installment of the James Bond franchise.

Actual Score: 62%. While I enjoyed Skyfall and Casino Royale a bit more, Spectre is still a solid Bond film as well as a highly entertaining and funny action film.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 326 Average listal rating (254 ratings) 6.6 IMDB Rating 7.1
Tomatometer Guess: 79%. After 65 years worth of comics and tv specials, Charles M. Schultz' famous comic strip makes its way to the big screen in what is sure to be a delight for adults and children alike.

Actual Score: 86%. Full of humor and heart, The Peanuts Movie manages to retain the charm of the comic strips without having to throw in pop culture references or cheap humor.

The perfect way to celebrate the franchise's 65th Anniversary.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 267 Average listal rating (158 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 7.5
Trumbo (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 82%. Bryan Cranston stars as infamous screenwriter Dalton Trumbo in this 1960s bipoic.

Actual Score: 65%. It's far from perfect, but Trumbo is superbly acted and does a decent job of telling the story of Dalton Trumbo and standing for what you believe in.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 749 Average listal rating (531 ratings) 7.7 IMDB Rating 8.1
Spotlight (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 95%. With a stellar cast and great early word of mouth, this is likely to be a contender for the Oscars.

Actual Scor: 96%. I was almost perfect with my guess. If you want to see something tense, well-acted, and intriguing, this is the movie for you.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 106 Average listal rating (57 ratings) 5.5 IMDB Rating 5.3
By the Sea (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 80%. Hollywood's favorite (or least favorite depending on who you ask) couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt star in this drama set in the 1970s.

Actual Score: 27%. Though beautifully shot and acted, By The Sea may prove to be too arthouse-y for its own good as it is a slow paced watch.
JWR's rating:
Tomatometer Guess: 85%. In the epic conclusion of The Hunger Games saga, Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen one last time as she leads an all-out assault on the Capital.

Actual Score: 72%. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 occasionally suffers from slow and uneven pacing (largely due to LionsGate's decision to split a mid sized book into 2 parts), but delivers on great performances and intense action sequences, and ends the series on a mostly satisfying note.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 98 Average listal rating (67 ratings) 6.2 IMDB Rating 6.8
Tomatometer Guess: 39%.

Actual Score: 35%. Though predictable,The 33 is a well acted and inspiring film about the real story about the miners in Chile. Not mindblowing, but certainly worth watching.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 213 Average listal rating (151 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 6.4
Tomatometer Guess: 66%. This raunchy comedy starring Seth Rogen looks like it could go either way, either it will prove to be a surprise like This Is The End or it will be a disappointment ala The Interview. How it turns out in the end remains to be seen.

Actual Score: 67%. If you liked Neighbors and This Is The End, The Night Before does not disappoint in the humor department. However, underneath the raunchiness of it all is actually a touching story about 3 friends that adds a sense if heart to the film. I'd highly recommend it.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 536 Average listal rating (355 ratings) 7.2 IMDB Rating 7.3
Carol (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 90%.

Actual Score: 96%.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 546 Average listal rating (424 ratings) 5.9 IMDB Rating 6.7
Tomatometer Guess: 92%. This is Pixar's second film released this year, a first for the studio. After the hugely successful Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur is sure to be another home run for the studio.

Tomatometer: 79%. While not as clever as Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur is a beautifully animated film that the whole family can enjoy.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 533 Average listal rating (389 ratings) 7.1 IMDB Rating 7.6
Creed (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 83%. Ryan Coogler,The director of Fruitvale Station reunites with star Michael B. Jordan (Who could use a hit after the disastrous Fantastic Four reboot earlier this summer.) In this spin-off/continuation of the Rocky film series.

Actual Score: 92%. Not only is Creed one of the best installments in the Rocky franchise, it's also a beautifully acted, well written film with a great message about making your own namesake in life. Go see this film if you haven't already.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 278 Average listal rating (145 ratings) 5.1 IMDB Rating 6
Tomatometer Guess: 42%. This retelling of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein feels very much like Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes with monsters. While I have low expectations for the film, my solace is that it can't be worse than I,Frankenstein.

Actual Score: 24%. Lower than my prediction, but not surprising. Victor Frankenstein is a generic monster movie with all of the clichés in that genre, however, Daniel Radcliffe and James MacAvoy have great chemistry and make the movie fun to watch.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 521 Average listal rating (345 ratings) 6.8 IMDB Rating 7.1
Tomatometer Guess: 82%. From the director of The King's Speech and Les Miserables comes this blatant Oscar contender starring Eddie Redmayne.

Actual Score: 72%.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 281 Average listal rating (155 ratings) 6.9 IMDB Rating 6.6
Macbeth (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 95%. Michael Fassbender stars in the latest retelling of the William Shakespeare classic.

Actual Score: 82%. Superbly acted, intense, and well directed, Macbeth is a faithful adaptation of the eponymous play.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 252 Average listal rating (186 ratings) 5.8 IMDB Rating 6.2
Tomatometer Guess: 63%. This Horror Comedy comes from Trick Or Treat director Mike Dougherty and looks to please horror fans.

Actual Score: 67%. Krampus is held back by its watered down PG-13 violence and its unlikable characters. However, its dark sense of humor and it's use of practical effects make it worth watching.

JWR's rating:
People who added this item 324 Average listal rating (212 ratings) 6.4 IMDB Rating 6.9
Tomatometer Guess: 81%. Ron Howard directs what looks like a beautifully shot, well acted, and exctiting story that inspired Moby Dick.

Actual Score: 41%. In The Heart of The Sea is at times visually stunning and well acted, but it's somewhat underdeveloped, the whale appears sporadically, and the movie doesn't fully live up to its potential. It's not a terrible film, but go in with tempered expectations.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 684 Average listal rating (482 ratings) 7.1 IMDB Rating 7.8
Tomatometer Guess: 73%. Anchorman director tries his hand and drama in this star studded film.

Actual Score: 87%. The Big Short is a savagely funny film with intricate dialogue and realistic portrayal of the housing crisis. If you're able to see it in limited release this week or you have to wait until the 23rd, see this movie.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 1634 Average listal rating (1165 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 7.8
Tomatometer Guess: 86%. Ten years since the end of the polarizing prequel trilogy, JJ Abrams directs the seventh installment of the most well known movie franchise in history.

Ever since that first teaser aired last November, the hype and anticipation for this movie has grown and has reached fever pitch. If done right, this movie could usher in a new era of greatness for the series.

Edit: I've brought my prediction down to a slightly more reasonable 86%. I'm still excited for this film, but I'm trying not to be disappointed.

Actual Score: 93%. Wow, just wow. Not only did this movie meet my expectations, in many ways, it surpassed them. The new leads have great chemistry (in contrast to the prequels), the returning characters are great as well, the action is frantic and intense, and it's arguably the funniest Star Wars film yet. But arguably the best part of The Force Awakens is that you don't need to have seen any of the previous films to enjoy it, because of how well the film explains what happened in the 30 years since Return of The Jedi. So, if haven't seen it yet, go and see it now, you won't regret it.

Sisters (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 65%. If Star Wars doesn't do it for you, than perhaps this will. This comedy stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as two sisters who decide to throw a party before moving out of their old home.

Actual Score: 60%. Though it's raunchy humor will appeal solely to fans of raunch, Sister features Amy Poehler and Tina Fey working off each other perfectly and makes for serviceable laughs.
JWR's rating:
Tomatometer Guess: 13%. The bane of every parent's existence returns for the fourth installment of the Alvin and The Chipmunks series.

Actual Score: 15%. Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip features the same child-pandering humor, forced musical numbers, and dated pop culture references that we know and love from the first three movies.

The only reason to see this movie (much less spend money on it. ) is so that your kids who are too young for Star Wars have something to keep them busy for 90 minutes.

JWR's rating:
People who added this item 374 Average listal rating (233 ratings) 6.3 IMDB Rating 6.6
Joy (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 92%. David O'Russell reunites with Jennifer Lawrence and others who have been in his previous films for Joy, which is sure to be another highlight on Lawrence's resume.

Actual Score: 57%.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 256 Average listal rating (190 ratings) 5.4 IMDB Rating 6.2
Daddy's Home (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 69%. Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell star as two dads competing for the affection of their kids.

Actual Score: 27%. Ferrell and Wahlberg have great chemistry, but Daddy's Home never fully takes advantage of its premise and its jokes are not as funny as they should be.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 162 Average listal rating (100 ratings) 6.5 IMDB Rating 7.1
Tomatometer Guess: 77%. Will Smith stars in this sports drama as a doctor who exposed a huge scandal in the NFL.

Actual Score: 60%. Concussion doesn't delve fully Into the story behind the NFL, but the performances are fantastic and carry the otherwise threadbare plot.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 112 Average listal rating (83 ratings) 4.7 IMDB Rating 5.3
Tomatometer Guess: 35%. While it may provide some entertaining stunts, this remake of the 1991 action film will likely be as generic and forgettable as action remakes of the past.

Actual Score: 7%. I had low expectations going into this, and I was still blown away by how bad it is.

The original Point Break wasn't a great film, but its campy tone made it charming and entertaining. The remake ob the other hand serious and joyless, has boring characters, and feels like something from the days where everything had to be "X-Treme".

My advice for you is to avoid it unless you want a few cheap laughs.

JWR's rating:
People who added this item 1072 Average listal rating (782 ratings) 7.4 IMDB Rating 7.8
Tomatometer Guess: 86%. Quentin Tarantino returns to helm this star studded western film which is guaranteed to have loads of witty dialogue, gratuitous violence, and excessive profanity.

Actual Score: 75%. The Hateful Eight has all of Quentin Tarantino's trademarks only this time, it's features in the style of a whodunit mystery and shot in beautiful 70mm.
JWR's rating:
People who added this item 1191 Average listal rating (846 ratings) 7.5 IMDB Rating 8
The Revenant (2015)
Tomatometer: 86%.

Actual Score: 81%. Kind of a last minute edition to this list. The Revenant is a bleak tale of vengeance featuring beautiful cinematography, unique direction, strong performances, and (thanks to the movie's troubled production) a sense of desperation and survival.

Special Note: I apologize for the delays and shortened reviews, I've been very busy, but know that I will try to work around my schedule.

While there have been plenty films released this year so far, this November and December might have the most variety. There's literally something for everyone, and in this list, I'm going to try and guess where they'll end up on the tomatometer.
