My Favorite TV Show Characters

I love the way these girls interact. Their chemistry is perfect, and it's always entertaining to see the way they bring out different personality quirks in each other.

Max Black

I really enjoy Max's snarky, dry sarcasm a little more.




Caroline Channing

I'm not sure if it's so much Caroline's personality by itself, so much as it is the way she and Max interact.

Sally Solomon

I love every character on this show, so it's kind of hard not to list every single one here, but Sally has a tiny margin on the others.

Oblina

Despite being a cartoon, Olina is the strong female character that knows how to take charge and get the others out of trouble. Or into it.

Roger

I feel like if you've ever seen this show, you'll probably understand why... He just makes me giggle uncontrollably in most episodes.

Cordelia Chase

(I'm puttering her here, under 'Angel' because I liked her better on this show. And she was a main character, rather than just on the Scooby Gang.) Of all the characters on Buffy, Cordelia was the one who managed to convince me she could exist in the real world without seriously damaging the calm of those around her. She was stuck up, arrogant and snobby at first, then stuck up, arrogant, snobby... and a little helpful. By the time she wandered over to the Angel spin-off, she'd been knocked down enough pegs to be even more convincing at the whole "human" thing. I love what she became on 'Angel'. Honestly, I even loved her as a b*tch!





Angel

I can't help it... I loved Angel. I loved him more in his spin-off than I did on Buffy though. (He was just a big whiny baby on Buffy.) As preposterous as it is, I like the romantisized version of Vampires, given that they don't sparkle, and I'll always have a soft spot for this broody vamp.





Winifred "Fred" Burkle

She was just adorable in this show.

Meatwad

Just plain too many LOL WTF? moments to leave him out!




Master Shake

My hero. I love his attitude and the weird nonsense that comes out of his mouth.

Josh

So adorable. Definitely my favorite of the three. I love Josh.

Penny

So adorkable! I love that she's kind of a closet Nerd. She always makes me smile. Plus she's from Nebraska! (She wins bonus points for that because my Dad's from NE.)




Sheldon Cooper

Special Agent Seeley Booth

The best FBI agent on TV by far. There's not a whole lot to not love about Booth. From his determination to redeem himself from a tortured past, to his Cocky belt buckle and rainbow myriad of socks. The patience and caring he has for Brennan, despite her twitchy, behind-the-times nature sometimes, makes six seasons of waiting totally worth it.

Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan

Classic. Bones is just classic. I still giggle every time I hear "I don't know what that means..." I love (almost) everything about Bones. She beautiful, smart, loving (even if she doesn't exactly understand it all the time). The mutual respect and friendships between herself and her team are so much fun to watch developing.






Dr. Jack Hodgins

My favorite of the Squinterns. I think it's probably the fact that he's filthy rich and wants nothing more than to work with the bugs and slime, rather than flaunting his wealth and using to to get what he wants. He waits, and waits, patiently for Angela to get her head out of her butt and realize he's the one for her. He puts up with an awful lot, and never once doubts. (The

Sweets just makes me laugh.

Buffy Summers

Of course, naturally I had to include Buffy... even if sometimes I wanted to reach through my television set to strangle the life right out of her.



Rupert Giles

Probably my favorite character on the show for several seasons. He was just so loveable!



Spike

Believe it or not, I loved Spike from the very first episode he was in. He was great as a baddie, and even better when he kind of switched sides. (Plus Angel was always a little too soft for me on this show.)

Richard Castle

Another one of my absolute favorite characters. I love the way he meshes humor and awkward drama together so perfectly. I also really like the relatiionship between himself and his daughter. (It doesn't hurt that I have a serious soft-spot for any character Nathan Fillion plays.)




Detective Kate Beckett

Probably my favorite woman on TV at the moment. Beckett is smart, strong, funny, and gorgeous. I love the witty byplay that goes on between her and Castle, and between her and her Detectives. And even if she went a little OC about it, I love the devotion she had to finding her mother's killer.

Detective Kevin Ryan

Detective Ryan is just too loveable and adorable not to include on this list! He puts up with so much, but his loyalty never fails. (Just look at that smile!)



Detective Javier Esposito

I love the tough guy counter-act to Ryan's cop. The byplay between Espisito and Ryan is great. And just like his partner, his loyalty is unshakeable, and his devotion to both his job and their little group is admirable.

Charles Irving Bartowski

Yay! Chuck Bartowski just plain makes me happy. I haven't had a chance to watch the final season yet though... I'm not sure if it's the actual character, or Zachary Levi, or just both! It was probably Chuck's innocent, and constant, spoof ups that endeared him to me the most! I just love the whole series in general!






Special Agent Sarah Walker

I'll admit it, I didn't like Sarah at first (cause I was jealous, probably!) but it didn't take long for her to grow on me. She still irritated the crap out of me every once in a while, but I tried to be understanding and patient... For Chuck's sake. =P

Morgan Grimes

Morgan is the kind of best friend I wish I had.





Special Agent Bryce Larkin

Matt Bomer is just so... I don't know a word to use that doesn't sound a little stalker-creepy... Bryce Larkin, despite only being in like 7 episodes of Chuck, was still my favorite side character by far. I love that he was the bad-boy Agent, then you come to find he did it all for a good reason. *heart*

Penelope Garcia

I giggle every time she answers the phone. I feel she's long lost sisters with Abby from NCIS.




Dr. Spencer Reid

I love socially awkward characters, especially those who have genius level IQ. He's adorable, and I'm pretty sure I'm in love with him.

So adorable!! I absolutely adore him!




Muriel

She reminds me of my Grandma. So sweet!

Logan Cale

Hot... just... hot. Logan Cale was like a superhero all by himself with all his technology and gadgetry and stuff. Granted his hair, in a few episodes , will probably make you go "Whoa! WTF happened there??"

I love the way she delivers some of the best lines completely deadpan. (No pun intended.)

Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds

A classic. No favorite character list would be complete without Captain Mal. Suave, charming, a little on the 'off' side, and with patience and humor abound, I might say Captain Mal is my number one favorite character. (The fact that he's sexy as hell doesn't hinder this feeling at all.)




Hoban "Wash" Washburne

Definitely one of my favorite characters of all time. Wash had everything - humor, drama, love, charisma, devotion.


He also had dinosaurs.



Jayne Cobb

Gruff yet loveable. Not quite the sharpest tool in the shed but entertaining all the less!




Kaylee Frye

So freakin' adorable it's pretty hard to watch certain episodes without 'squee'ing.

Dr. Gregory House

Like I said, trouble-making, sarcastic boys. But deep down, despite his gruff, crazy attitude, you know he cares. Sort of.

I like all the characters of God, but these two in particular were my favorites, especially Old Lady God. She was just plain awesome.





Joan Girardi

I actually kind of miss this show. I know it gets a lot of crap (particularly from Family Guy), but I loved the character.

Dale Gribble

There's a lot of really good characters to choose from on this show, but Dale is my favorite. Conspiracy theories, insane radio shows, a love for his wife so clear he's completely oblivious that she's cheating on him.

Benjamin Matlock

Another one that I watched as a kid. It could be incredibly boring if I wasn't in the mood for it, but Ben Matlock is still one of my favorite characters, regardless of the rest of the show!

MacGyver

This show absolutely fascinated me as a kid, and I've never been able to let go of the idea that you can make a neuclear size explosion out of chili, a dirty gym sock and a half roll of duct tape. Thank you, MacGyver.

Jessica Fletcher

I remember watching this show with my grandma when I was a kid, which probably endeared it to me a great deal, but Jessica is still one of my favorite detectives who's not a detective of all time.

Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard

NCIS just wouldn't be NCIS without Ducky.





Abby Sciuto

Just like Ducky, Abby is essential in making NCIS the show it is. She's one of those quirky, slightly off-kilter characters that always comes through in a pinch. Dependable, caring and loyal, the major case response team would be up ---- creek without a paddle if it weren't for Abby!





Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs

Who doesn't like Gibbs? The way he interacts with his team is fascinating. The confidence and trust he has in each member... Plus he built a boat in his basement!





Special Agent Tony DiNozzo

I have a soft spot for trouble-making sarcastic men, and DiNozzo is pretty much the poster boy for that personality type. (Don't tell the others, but he's probably my favorite Agent.)





Special Agent Kate Todd

I miss Kate. A lot. I loved the snarky relationship with DiNozzo, and the kind of mentor thing she had with McGee. I really hoped they would get into the behind-the-scenes stuff between her and Abby, too.





Special Agent Ziva David

Although I have to admit, I'm highly biased toward Kate, I can't deny that Ziva is a good fit for the team, and definitely entertaining.

The Oblongs

The whole friggin' family is ridiculous. I didn't want to list them all out because it would be every single person on the show...

I feel it's only fair to say first that I'm in love with every character on The Office, so this list could be much, much longer.

Michael Scott

Obviously. A very funny man! Oddly enough, some of his crazy schemes remind me of my own boss, which makes Michael all the more entertaining!



Dwight Schrute

Watching Dwight in action is like watching an unedited episode of 'Wild Kingdom'.



Jim Halpert

Naturally... I think Jim is one of the more likeable characters on the show. I particularly enjoy his creativity when pranking Dwight. I'm still trying to get a stapler to stay in the middle of the jello instead of sinking.





Pam Beesley

I have to admit... I really liked the first few seasons of Pam. Don't get me wrong, I love that Jim and Pam are finally together, but there was something special about timid Pam with all that not-so-subtle sexual tension.

There are so many amazing characters on this show, this section could be forever long... I'll try to keep it down a little.

Mr.Gold/Rumplestiltskin

First off, Robert Carlyle could not have done a better job with this character. Rumple is totally believable and ridiculously fun, despite being a villain, and he has this way that sucks you in and makes you care about him, even while he's beating something bloody with his cane. I love when a villain is the type that tempts you with his own personal redemption and then blasts it all to hell. The type that you hate to love, but really love to hate.

Killian Jones/Captain Hook

Again, well played. There are a lot of sides to Hook, and a depth to the character that has really started coming out (season three) as we go along. I love the complexities that are worked into these characters, and I feel like Hook is a prime example. Another good example of a good guy villain too. It doesn't hurt, of course, that Colin O'Donoghue is ridiculously attractive.




Jefferson/Mad Hatter

There's something understated and elegant about Once's version of the Mad Hatter. The explanation for his 'madness' is better than any I've heard, and I adore his storyline with Grace. He's probably my overall favorite version of the Mad Hatter anyway, but he's definitely not in this show often enough.

Ruby/Red Riding Hood

She's just... adorable. I love the way she 'learns her lessons' and that she's always there to support Team Storybrooke no matter what. (And, of course, she's completely gorgeous.)




Emma Swann

I honestly didn't care for Emma at first, but she's definitely growing on me. I'm enjoying the way she's really toughening up and becoming a mother as best she can.

Snow White/Mary Margaret Blanchard

I do love this character, there are just moments I really, really want to shake her and tell her to man up! I also think Snow is the stronger of the two characters - the way Ginnifer plays her I mean.



Prince Charming/David Nolan

Prince Charming - yes please! David Nolan - meh. David's finally shaping up, but he just down right irritated me for a long time.

Dr. Sam Beckett

Scott plays this character so well. Sam is loveable, charismatic and thought-provoking. He adapts to innumerable situations, always thinking of everyone else first.

Van & Cheyenne Montgomery

Possibly the cutest couple ever.

Remington Steele

As boring as this show was when I was a kid, I absolutely love Remington now. (The character. I love Remington the character... the show is still kind of boring.)

Detective Jane Rizzoli

Love this character. Love, love, love. I love the backstory to the show, I love the kind of friendship that Rizzoli and Isles have. I love all the little personality quirks that both of the girls have.






Dr. Maura Isles

Love this character too!!. I'll just repeat myself because it applies here too: I love the backstory to the show, I love the kind of friendship that Rizzoli and Isles have. I love all the little personality quirks that both of the girls have. (I particularly love Isles' bubbly spirits. It's almost a little uncomfortable to watch a pathologist enjoy herself so much.)

Brave, loyal, caring, adventurous, always the best friend a baby can be.



Chuckie Finster

I always wanted to give Chuckie a big hug and tell him everything would be alright in the end.

Quinn Mallory

Science whiz, adorable, and humorous.

Clark Kent (Superman)

I started watching this show half way through season 1, way back in the day, and I was just starting high school, so I felt "connected" to the show in that silly way teenagers so often do. Tom's version of Clark was so real to me. Much more real than the film versions when he's nearly perfect. I love that Tom made this Clark a real person, with faults and doubts. A Clark that grew up through the series, just as naturally as a normal kid would. Even with super powers.






Lex Luthor

Lex was a pretty complicated character in my mind. If you didn't know he was Superman's arch nemesis, the Smallville version of Lex could have easily gone good or bad. Michael does a wonderful job portraying him, and he's likeable, even if he's 'evil'.



(And I know he has hair in this one, but I just really love the picture.)

Dean Winchester

Lord help me... As a loving, devoted fan to the Supernatural series, I can't help but be a hopeless fan girl for both Winchester brothers. (Don't tell Sam, but Dean is my favorite.) I love his snarky wit, dry humor, constant pop culture referencing and the devoted loyalty he gives to those he loves. He's not bad to look at either...





Sam Winchester

Despite Sam's occasional wimpy attitude (and constant pouting) I still love this character. He's tough when he needs to be, usually, and his fierce love for his family conquers a few of the less endearing traits. Plus... the hair. (Season 1 hair anyway...) =D





Castiel

Misha is adorable on and off screen, and even though Castiel is a little less quirky than Misha seems to be, some of that obvious fun personality still leeks through to Castiel. I can't help but just love this character. Especially the way Misha does his voice!

Bobby Singer

Bobby grew on me really, really quickly, and I fell head over heels when he called the boys "idjuts" the first time. A wonderful supporting character and one that makes me happy each time he steps on screen.
