A combination of two of my favourites, Freddie Highmore and Emma Roberts. How can I resist anytime it's on?
A story of the neverdowell who rises to the occasion when he must accompanied by a ghostly melodic understated score.

August Rush (2007)
Doesn't it just take you to another plane of existance. Yes a kid slapping a guitar can do that for me. Makes me really want to believe in re-incarnation so that in my next life I can come back as a musician.
What I wouldn't give to have that happen? Even if it meant being the poorest one on earth. Just so I could play music and touch people the way I am touched by good music. I could then die in peace and be re-incarnated as me again, if this makes any sense whatsoever.......
BTW. I'm not high as I write this :)

Life as a House (2001)
A man with terminal cancer decides to spend his last few months of life building a house while connecting with his teenage son. He is in the last stages of cancer treatment and forgoes more aggressive treatment and instead uses his final days to try and establish some sort of meaningful relationship with his son, with whom communicating on any level has been tuff in the last few years.

The Adjustment Bureau (2011)
Your fate has been adjusted. Doesn't it feel that way? With all the responsibilities and to do's you have in life.
Don't you feel like sayinying, f**k it. I'm going to do what I want no matter how late it is in life?
Are we fated. Is it too late?
Not a great movie by any stretch but some fabulous concepts, don't you think.

Harold and Maude (1971)
If you want to be free be free 'cause you know that you are.
A movie where a young man and a very old woman fall in love and it doesn't feel strange. It rather feels like one of the most inspiring, beautiful love stories of all time. The score of this movie by Cat Stevens is part of the magic.
For you younger folks you probably haven't heard much of this music for political reasons but you'll want to listen to really killer folk/rock.

Big Fish (2003)
Dad passed away last year year so this movie holds a special place in my heart. In essence, don't wait until it's late in the ball game to tell special people in your life that you love them. You don't get a do over in life.
Not only does it make the other person feel good but doesn't it make you feel good when you profess genuine love for others. Do it, you'll love it.

Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)
Isn't this one of the best scores of all time in a movie. Perfect timing as well as great harmonies have us at the edge of our seats throughout.

The Sandlot (1993)
Memories of what once was for us older guys. Memories of playing Little League for the younger guys and gals who have played and are younger. You"ll laugh, you"ll cry but you will want to do it again.

King Arthur (2004)
Oh how I wish I had been born in the time of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. There existed such things as chivalry and honour. If you did the right thing you would be respected and the Knights were the example of giving their lives for just cause but having the recognition for it.
The true anti-thesisis of what this world has devolved and is further devolving into. Try and discipline your kids and they have the hotline to the lawyers not Batman.
I can at least say my 2 young men have grown up with a true respect for myself and their mother. I wish the rest of society could say the same.

Well you get my drift. There are some movies that I can keep watching over and over again. These are truly great ones for me. They are not necessarily gems rated at 10 but for various reasons even though I know the story ....
Usually movies for me are a voyage of discovery. In other words , not knowing what happens is a large part of the appeal, even though you can sometimes see what's coming from a mile away..
However for these movies it doesn't seem to matter. In most cases, they make me sad. Some make me laugh but usually it's the sadness. What can I say?
I know most cinephiles can make up their own list so go ahead make your own and you can be sure that as I stumble across them I will vote for them as they tell me something personal about each of you in a indirect fashion. Thanks if you do choose to share in this fashion.
My list will be a work in progress ....
Good cheer to all.
