Gravity Falls (2012)
Plot: Twins, Dipper and Mabel, are sent from California to vacation with Stan, their great-uncle, in Gravity falls, Oregon. Believing it would be boring, Dipper comes across a journal about the town and realize the town has mysteries around from gnomes to bear with multiple heads to a dorito-shaped space demon. The twins must keep the journal a secret and find out why Gravity Falls has so much paranormal activities and who is the author of the journal. However, it's soon revealed lil Gideon, Dipper's enemy whom he made during the summer, also have a journal of his own, thus him also knowing about the paranormal activities. Also, throughout season 1, the twins tried to keep the journal and paranormal activities from their great-uncle. However, in the beginning of season 2, Stan already knew about them. But the twins are unaware he knows about the journals, in which he had one himself making three in total. He made a copy of Dipper's journal before giving it back, as he, unbeknownst to the twins and everyone else, is working on a machine. By the mid-season,the government arrests Stan for possibly making a weapon of mass destruction. Trying to find evidence to clear his name, the twins find multiple passports and fake IDs, believing the man whom they were living with isn't their great-uncle at all. The twins and fellow Stan's employee, Soos, stumble across a hidden entry to the machine Stan was working on, thinking it's a weapon to destroy the world. Meanwhile, Stan escapes to get to the machine before anything happens. When Dipper is about the button, Stan stops him because it's important they shouldn't. As gravity literally, and scientifically falls, it's up to Mable to press. But Stan, whom Mable looked up to all summer, tells her that's important not to because she must trust him, despite Dipper telling her not to. Mabel decides to to trust Stan, resulting a blinding white light. As a result, the world is not destroyed. And the machine turns out to be a portal as a shadowy figure comes out it. Seeing one the journals on the ground, he picks it up. Dipper looks up, wonders who it is. And Stan replies,"The Author of the journals...

Plot: Steven Universe is a show about a young human/gem (alien) hybrid named Steven living on Earth with the Crystal Gems, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl. Garnet. Their former leader, Rose Quartz chose to protect Earth from their former rulers, the Diamonds, with one of them, Pink Diamond, the ruler of Earth. Although Rose's son, Steven,the title character was told that she never wanted to shatter (aka kill) gems, or even the diamonds, many have witnessed her shattering Pink Diamond. However, Steven becomes suspicious about his mom's strategy.

Plot Twist: Rose Quartz, did not shatter Pink Diamond, she WAS Pink Diamond. In S5E18, "A Single Pale Rose," Pearl sends Steven into her mind, constantly, to fetch her phone. However, she revealed she knew that Rose and Pink Diamond are the same and they planned the fake shattering. Part of the plan is Pink shapeshift herself into her original form while Pearl shapeshifts into Rose's form to stage the shattering and make her promise not to tell anyone about it, something she always wanted to tell him, but couldn't.

Plot: Nine noble families fight for control over the mythical lands of Westeros, while an ancient enemy returns after being dormant for thousands of years. One of them is Daenys Targaryen, whose father, King Aerys II Targaryen, was killed by Jamie Lannister for killing any of his subjects when a rebellion was rising, lead by Robert Baratheon, who then took the throne and married Cersei Lannister, of fellow rebellion, Tywin Lannister. Considered to be the last in her bloodline, and being the fact women are viewed inferior to men in the show, Daenys sets on a quest by taking back the throne from the Lannisters and by Season 7, she join forces with Jon Snow, King of the North and bastard son of Ned Stark, who was also part of the rebellion.

Plot Twist: Daenys is Jon's aunt. From season one on, it was believed Ed Stark had sex with a local prostitute who gave birth to Jon. However, Brandon, one OF Ned's sons from marriage, had gained abilities of the Three-Eye Raven to see in the past and about John's true heritage. With many believed Rhaegar, sister of Daenys, held Ned's sister, Lyanna, hostage and where she died. It's actually revealed that both were married in a secret wedding and died during child labor when delivering Jon. Before knowing this, Ned killed Rhaegar to get to her. Knowing that King Rober has a hatred towards the Targaryens and would kill the newborn on sight, Lyanna made Ned promise her to take care of him and not to tell Robert Jon's true origins.

Plot: A team of astronauts land on an unknown planet in the year 3978, with one of their members die in her sleep when they woke up, it's later revealing to be dominate by apes. With one colleague being killed during a hunt, later stuffed for display in a museum, and one later was subjected to a lobotomy, Taylor tries to convince the apes that's he's from another planet rule, by humans, despite some of the apes believing he's part of a human tribe that could speak in the Forbidden Zone.

Plot Twist: The alien planet turns out to be Earth, which ended after an nuclear war.

Plot Twist: Garnet is a fusion. In S1E52, "Jail Break," Steven, along with another gem he had previous met and befriended, Lapis Lazuli, are being held prisoners since the last episode, "The Return," after seeing Garnet being poofed. However, Steven escapes his cell and finds two other gems he never seen, Ruby and Sapphire. He helps both of them escape their separate cells, as we see they are not only a couple, but the they start to fuse, an ability gems can do. And to Steven's surprise, they both fuse into Garnet.

Psycho (1960)
Plot: Fed up with her life, as she and her boyfriend cannot get married while in debt, Marion decides to leave while stealing money from a client from her work. Trying to find a motel with vacancy, she comes across the Bates Motel, which is run by Norman Bates with his mother, whom Norman stated is mentally ill and forbids him from having an independent life. Moved by his story, Marion decides to go back home in the morning to return the money. But while showering, gets killed by Norman's mother. In the meantime, Marion's boyfriend and sister try to look for her.

Plot Twist: Norman killed Marion, dressed as Mother. Years ago, he actually killed her along with her boyfriend, due to the fact he became jealous due to the fact before the boyfriend came in, it was just them. However, he recreated his mother in his mind with the same behavior pattern as if she never died.

Plot: At the beginning, Princess Star Butterfly is sent to the Earth realm to practice her magic under the guide of Glossaryck, mentor to the Butterfly line, or anyone possessing the book he is living in as he is part of it, while staying at the Diaz household, befriending their son, Marco. While going to school on Earth, Star and marco battle monsters and other crazy adventures. In the beginning of season 1, Star's friend, Pony Head, is sent to St. Olga's Reform School for Wayward Princesses, in which strips away their students' independence and identity as an individual. This results later, Star and Marco rescuing her, while meeting the school head mistress, Ms. Heinous, a primary villain that we would follow.

Plot Twist: in S3,E15 "Monster Bash," It's revealed Miss Heinous' is the mewman/monster hybrid Meteora Butterfly, the daughter of the Queen of Darkness and Star's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother, Eclipse Butterfly. Later on, under the orders of Eclipsa's ex-husband the king, the High magic Commission sent the infant Meteora to St. Olga all of her life, while replacing her with a peasant infant.

Fight Club (1999)
Plot: the main character, in which the movie would call The Narrator, is discontent with his white-collar job, while suffering from insomnia. He forms a "fight club" with soap maker Tyler Durden and they are joined by men who also want to fight recreationally. The narrator becomes embroiled in a relationship with Durden and a dissolute woman named Marla Singer.

Plot Twist: Both the Narrator and Tyler are the same person, as the Narrator realizes he is suffering from MPD. Realizing how dangerous Tyler is, he "kills" Tyler by shooting himself in the face, miraculously surviving it.

Plot: Months after child psychologist Malcolm Crowe was shot by one his former patients, Vincent Grey, before the patient turned the gun on himself, Crowe begins working with another patient, nine-year-old Cole Sear, who states he can see ghosts. At first dismissing Cole as delusional, he listens to a taping to a recording of Vincent. When Vincent was then left alone, Crowe turns up the volume and starts to hear a man weeping in Spanish and starts realizing Vincent must had the same ability and must figure out to help him, meanwhile trying to reconcile with his wife, something Cole suggest he should.

Plot Twist: Crowe was dead the whole time.

Chinatown (1974)
Plot: Private detective Jake Gittes is contracted by an Evelyn Mulwray to find out if her husband, Hollis Mulwray, chief engineer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, is having an affair. The takes pictures with another woman and published in the paper the next day, it's revealed the woman who hired him was not Evelyn Mulwray, as he was visited by the real one. Realizing he was set up, he investigate a cover up, which include the sudden death of Hollis Mulwray, who apparently drowned in a fresh-watered river, but salt water wast found in his lungs, which leads to one of his suspects being his former business partner, Noah Cross, Evelyn's father, and Katherine Cross, whom was introduced as Evelyn's sister. Jake soon realizes Cross killed Mulwray. Cross had planned to build the dam in his land so that the water would not benefit the city of Los Angeles, and he could sell the water to make a profit. Mulwray refused to co-operate and was killed. In the mean time, Jake becomes puzzled on what's the relationship is between both Katherine and Everlyn.

Plot Twist: Katherine was both Evelyn's sister and daughter, as Cross raped her at 15.

Plot: A couple decide to adopt 8-year-old Esther, after a miscarriage. But they soon start to notice her strange behavior.

Plot Twist: Esther is not an 8-year-old girl, but a woman in her thirties whose hormones keeps her from growing into adult size. And years before, she killed a previous family, when the husband learned who she was and made the murders look like an accident and she's the only survivor.

Bones (2005)
Plot: In the series that follows anthropologist and her team helping the FBI to solve murders, one of the earlier cases in the show they going through in season 3, is the Gormogon case, in which the teams tries to catch a cannibalistic serial killer in they named Gormogon, who is based on an anti-Masonic order of the 18th century. Learning about the history of the order, there is a mentor and an apprentice. When they caught the apprentice, Jason Harkness, he is then killed by his master who snuck in to do the deed.

Plot Twist: In the season finale, when the team learn Goromogon has a new apprentice, fan favorite Zack Addy is revealed to be the new apprentice, as he was manipulated by Goromogon, to show where one of his recent victims live.

Plot: Under the orders Obi-Wan, Luke finds Master Yoda to complete his training. Meanwhile, his friends go to Cloud City to meet up with Lando Calrissian, an old ally of Han's. However, things turn for the worse when they become Darth Vader's prisoners. Sensing they're in trouble, Luke leaves his training to save them, which ends with him in a duel with Vader, the man who killed Luke's father.

Plot: Francis, a young man, recalls in his memory the horrible experiences he and his fiancรฉe Jane recently went through about hypnotist Dr. Caligari using a somnambulist, Cesare, to commit murders.

Plot twist: Francis is actually an asylum inmate. Jane and Cesare are patients as well; Jane believes she is a queen, while Cesare is not a somnambulist but alive, quiet, and not visibly dangerous. The man Francis considers as "Dr. Caligari" is the asylum director who believes he now understands his condition and can cure him.
