To add or remove follows just visit someones profiles page and click the follow button.

Is it possible to add videos to individual lists?

You cannot create a list of videos, but you can add videos to a list.

1.

Create a list of people, movies, books, or other items on Listal.

2.

Open the video you want on YouTube and copy the alphanumeric code after "www.youtube.com/watch?v="

For instance, nbp3Ra3Yp74 is the code for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 official trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbp3Ra3Yp74

3.

Go to an item in your list and click "Add note".

4.

Type in
[youtube id=nbp3Ra3Yp74]

5.

Save.

Now the video should show on your list, like this.

How do I add a person to Listal?

Anyway, when it comes to adding a person, some extra tips may help, especially if he or she is an actor or actress, or a film director or author, or took part to movies and TV shows anyway, thus their name can also be found in the IMDb.com database.

That's how I do it step by step.

1.

I look for the name on Listal, to find out if it's really missing.

www.listal.com/search/person/name+lastname

Sometimes you need to double-check.

For instance "Matt Le Blanc": nothing found.
Matt LeBlanc: bingo!

If the name is not on Listal, then I look up IMDb.com
Let's say "Matt LeBlanc" was not on Listal, then I would find him on IMDb:
www.imdb.com/find?ref_=nv_sr_fn&q=Matt+LeBlanc&s=nm

As I am interested in Matt LeBlanc the actor who played Joey in "Friends", not in Matt LeBlanc the composer with same name, I pick the correct IMDb page:
www.imdb.com/name/nm0001455/?ref_=fn_nm_nm_1

Next thing, I copy that IMDb link and paste it into Listal's search window and hit Enter on my keyboard, or the green search button ("All").
Listal will magically import the missing name and create a new page for "Matt LeBlanc" (if it's missing), with links to the movies and shows he was in.
If the page exists already, Listal will just bring you to that page.

What if the name you want is NOT on Listal and NOT on IMDb.com either? If you are positive the name is not in the database (please double-check, including known name variants and known nicknames for that person), then you can import it from some other reputable web page about the same person, for instance a Wikipedia article about him or her.
However, please do take care not to import duplicate pages for someone who already has a profile on Listal or IMDb.com.

Having an issue with "sections" in image lists.

Cannot move items into a new a section.

Have you tried setting the list category, if not set?

I have lost a lot of pictures from my lists!

Sometimes pictures get removed for a number of reasons.
When an image is deleted as "Duplicate" of better quality image, the better quality image automatically replaces the deleted pic in the list.

Sweet? Yes and no. Problem is, the trick does not always work! It works for images that have been added as "Notes" to a list item. But automatic replace is not enabled for "image lists", just lists of images.

Besides, if an image was deleted for any other reasons, not as a "Duplicate", then it can't be replaced.

How do I go about changing my password on Listal?

There is no "change password" page, but just log out and go to the login page, click "Forgot your user name or password" and enter your user name or email. An email will be sent to you with a link to reset your password.

Besides the password reset link is sent in every notification email message you get from Listal.

Please note that your user name is the name on the left of ".listal.com" in your profile's web address, not the screen name that is displayed on Listal lists and forums.

Can I see new posts on ALL the forums with 1 click?

Too bad,the forums list does not show if a forum has new posts since you read it, neither it shows the date and time of the latest message.
So, users need to browse each and every forum to find out if there is anything new.

Or... here is the trick!

Go to Forum Home page and just click the Search forums button, leaving the search window empty.

I want to export my data and save all of it on my PC.

The good news: You can export your Collections (that is to say, the movies and TV shows you have seen, the DVDs you own, and so on) as a XML files. Just go to Export data.

The bad news: You cannot export as XML your Custom lists.

The not-so-bad news: What you can do, anyway, is save your custom lists as PDF pages. You may use some "PDF Print" software such as Bullzip or others. Besides, you might save them on your Google Drive storage, if you have a Google account (who doesn't?). In Chrome browser it's easy as cake: just print the page and chose "Save to Google Drive" as destination printer.

I'm losing points. Why?

There might be various reasons.

For instance, you had points from uploading images, but only few people viewed those images, so you lost the points. Pictures over 3 months old need 10 views to count towards points.

Another possible reason is you got points from votes on your lists, images, video... but some users who voted for you have deleted their account (or had their account deleted for some reason). Thus, you lost the points that came from their votes.

Also consider that your points are not be updated in real time. You may have to wait some time before new points are added.

User rankings that show on the forums are only updated once in a while, but you can check more up-to-date rankings here

which includes users with no avatar. The same can be achieved by manually selecting "All" instead of "Must have picture" in the Filter on the left hand side (green area).

For instance, when I wrote this, I was #188 among All users, but #186 among Users who have an avatar.

If you are a new user, then it's likely it still hasn't been update. In this case, see previous answer how to check more up-to-date data.

Another possible scenario is that you did something against Listal rules like creating fake accounts to receive fake votes from them. In other words, you cheated, thus you have been banned from the Point system.

How come a picture of mine was deleted?
