Van Damme on Léon, mies joka on tehnyt jotain väärin. Hän kärsii tuomiotaan jossain legioonassa. Mutta kun hänen veljensä tapetaan jengimittelössä, ottaa Damme hatkat. Matkalla LA:han hän joutuu katutappeluihin, ja tajuaa sen olevan hyvä keino tienata rahaa veljen leskivaimolle sekä tämän tyttärelle. Lyhyesti sanottuna tämä on ihan ok dammeilua. Katutappelut kuitenkin edustavat herran parasta osaamista. Pakollinen sidekickneekerikin löytyy, "you know what I mean".

Homma etenee sillain, että Dolph on tosi paha ja Damme on tosi hyvä. Näiden kahden näyttelijän vastakkain asettelun tulisi olla kiinnostavaa, mutta Damme ei vieläkään osaa näytellä, niin Dolph varastaa täysin show'n. Mistään tajuntaa laajentavasta toimintaelokuvasta ei voida edes puhua, kun toimintaa on melko nihkeästi. Se mitä on, se on tavallaan ihan hyvää. Harmillisesti Dammen neekerisidekick on vaihtunut tupakkaa polttavaan journalistimuijaan, joka ei ole edes hyvännäköinen.

Tarina pitää mm. sisällään ihmisjahtia urheiluhengessä, Dammen käärmeansavirityksen ja iki-ihanan Arnold Vosloon.

Jotenka takatukka liehuu ja samalla tämä on myös parasta Dammea tähän mennessä. Se takatukka tosiaan on komea, eikä leffan asenteessa muutenkaan ole moittimista. Ensimmäistä kertaa ohjaus oikeasti antaa tilaa Dammelle. Woo on saanut harvinaisen hyvin kasaan tällaisen perusysäri toimintafilmin. Lance on loistava pahis ja Vosloo on erittäin hyvä sidekick hänelle.

Dammen ohjaustyö toimintakohdissa on sujuvaa, vaikka tarinan kuljettaminen muuten ontuukin. Olen jo aiemmin sanonut, että juuri näissä leffoissa Damme on parhaimmillaan, enkä ole kantaani muuttanut. Turnaus on se mikä Dammen tiellä pitää.

Niillä on piraattivaatteita, ja ne muutenkin on vähän laitapuolen kulkijoita. Elikkä vittu mitä shaibaa. Tämä oli paskinta Dammea tähän mennessä. Ohjaus on kamalaa, näyttely on kamalaa, Schneider ei ole hauska ja kaikki kusee. Lisäksi juoni on täynnä käänteitä, jotka eivät kiinnosta vitun vertaa.

Damme on itsetuhoinen ja kännissä keskellä aavikkoa. Danny Trejo kertoo jotain random-juttuja hänelle. Sitten joku porukka vaan tulee ja hakkaa Dammen sekä varastaa tämän moottoripyörän. Trejo vie Dammen majaansa ja antaa tälle jalkahieronnan. Tästä Damme saa virtaa, ja päättää kostaa! Leffan alku on kyllä täynnä hienoja "mitä vittua" hetkiä. Alun jälkeen meno vähän laantuu, mutta ei missään vaiheessa muutu tylsäksi. Tämä on Dammen kokeilu lännenmaailmassa, ja poika onnistuu kohtuullisen hyvin. Kaksimielistä läppää ja kaikkea muuta, sitä on Desert Heat. Tämä taitaa myös olla ainoa leffa, jossa on ollut tissit tämän putken aikana.

Trejo takes him home and give him a foot massage. Here Damme is getting power, and decides to get revenge! The beginning of the movie full of wonderful enough "what the fuck"moments. Initially, after spending subsides a bit, but never dull unchanged. This is a experimental Damme western world, and the boy succeeds reasonably well. Two flap minds and everything else, it is the Desert Heat. I think this might also be the only movie that has had a tits during this marathon.

Kansikuvan perusteella tämän piti olla joku ritarihärpäke. Toisin kuitenkin kävi. Alussa oli jotain ristiretkijuttuja, mutta sen jälkeen tästä tuli sellainen Dammen paska yritys olla Indiana Jones. Siis Van Damme on joku ihan vitun vammanen veijarihuijari tai arkeologi. Oikeastaan aivan sama, koska koko leffa on toteutettu niin huonosti, ettei se jaksa viihdyttää, saati sitten naurattaa. Kyllähän tästä näkee, että naurattamista yritetään. Musiikkivalinnat ovat sen verta "veijarimaisia", ettei hölmömpikään katsoja voi erehtyä. Jäätävää paskaa, jonka jälkeen ei voi kuin pelon sekavin tuntein odottaa, mitä seuraava elokuva tuo tulleessaan.

In the beginning there was something Crusade stuff, but then it became kind of crap Damme business to be Indiana Jones. So Van Damme is a fucking cheater, or more rogue archeologist. Actually, just the same, because the whole flick is so poorly implemented that it is too tired to entertain, let alone laugh. Sure, it sees that you try to laugh. Music selections were made by the blood, "funny" that fooler audience can not mistake. Icy bullshit, after which one can not but fear mixed feelings about the wait to see what the next film will bring.

Van Damme kokee epäoikeudenmukaisuutta. Hänen vaimonsa tapetaan ja murhaajakin pääsee kuin koira veräjästä. Damme ottaa oikeuden omiin käsiinsä, jonka seurauksena hänet passitetaan pahamaineiseen vankilaan. Ylläripylläri, vanginvartijat ovat täysiä mulkkuja ja rakastavat tappeluiden katsomista. In Hell on selvästi parannus Van Dammen tuotannossa. Siinä on tavallaan ihan hyvä nihilistinen ilmapiiri. En nyt vain aivan saanut tästä kaikkea irti. Ehkä muutama kovan luokan tappelu olisi piristänyt kokonaisuutta. Nyt tämä on enemmänkin vankilaelokuva kuin kamppailulajileffa. Ei siinä mitään pahaa, mutta kun sitä on tottunut näkemään Dammen jalan jonkun munissa, niin sitä odotti nytkin. Onneksi sentään elämä potkii Dammea päähän sen verta kivasti, ettei tämän kanssa tylsyyteen kuollut.

In Hell is a clear improvement in the Van Damme production. It is a kind of nihilistic pretty good atmosphere. I do not quite gotten this all out of. Maybe a few hard-core fighting would have stimulated totality. Now this is more of a prison movie than a martial art flick. Luckily, life kicks Damme to head so much that I didn't die boredom with this.

Triadit tappavat Dammen vaimon. Tästäkös Damme herpaantuu, ja lähtee vigilanteretkelleen. No voi hohhoijaa... kuinka voi vigilantesmi olla näin tylsää. Damme ei oikeastaan tee mitään muuta kuin murjottaa. Tappeluita ja tappamista on nihkeästi, ja sekin on kuvattu päin vittua. Kyllähän tämä oli todellinen mahalasku In Hellin jälkeen. Viimeisen kerran sain iskun munille. Nyt on hyvä jättää herra Van Damme omaan rauhaansa, mutta vain vuodeksi.
