How to get smart? You can start by not watching this.
The dance scene is pretty funny among a few other moments.
The dance scene is pretty funny among a few other moments.
Stehako's rating:

Most scenes wanted to be funny like the first film but most failed to do so. Still, the characters are funny and of course you can't lose with Neil Patrick Harris.
Stehako's rating:

So silly and obnoxious it's entertaining. The music isn't horrible but it's just so wrong.
Stehako's rating:

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008)
An Alec Baldwin lion saves this less-than-stellar sequel
Stehako's rating:

Trumbo (2008)
An impressive array of personalities give their take on the important life of Dalton Trumbo.
Stehako's rating:

Shotgun Stories (2007) (2008)
Each scene becomes more painful than the previous. The scenes are very flat and dry... but a solid performance from Shannon and basically balsy attitude the director and editor had with such scenes made it likable.
Stehako's rating:

An interesting look at the controversial and prolific filmmmaker.
Stehako's rating:

Beautiful Losers (2008)
A documentary about the 90s New York art scene, by the underground movement not the snobs
Stehako's rating:

Visually just as great as the first; but it has lost a lot of the adventure and charm from the first.
Stehako's rating:

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008)
Visually as appealing as the first, but not as interesting of a story.
Stehako's rating:

The elderly getting hip, singing rock songs. There are some lovely and effecting moments but it is made by mediocre documentarians.
Stehako's rating:

This realistically-paced abortion film is glamourless and deals with tone wonderfully.
Stehako's rating:

The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Ed Norton makes this portrayal realistic but Tim Robbins ruins it from greatness, along with the miss of a solid ending
Stehako's rating:

Battle in Seattle (2008)
A great cast in a movie with potential but tries to hard to get out a message without giving us characters we care about.
Stehako's rating:

Wanted (2008)
This film wanted to be a slick new take on the genre, but fell flat in some areas and with what was gained style was lost in the acting and casting choices.
Stehako's rating:

Miracle at St. Anna (2008)
As usual Lee's racial intentions are a bit didactic; but I love a good war film and this one certainly was a different type of one.
Stehako's rating:

Without a doubt the weakest edition of the saga; but nonetheless an entertaining jaunt, while silly at times, through Jones's archeological and nostalgic world.
Stehako's rating:

Hamlet 2 (2008)
Coogan is a maniac and it's almost as if he knows this is a shitty movie he is starring him but he doesn't give a shit and he just delivers a manic performance that, clearly, few people have grown to appreciate.
Film stumble along into a climactic performance of 'Hamlet 2' and proves to be a nice payoff.
Film stumble along into a climactic performance of 'Hamlet 2' and proves to be a nice payoff.
Stehako's rating:

A moving documentary that will make you sick and cry and pull your hair out. I knew going into it wasn't going to be a fun documentary but I didn't realize how it affecting it would be, especially given the amateurish filmmaking.
Stehako's rating:

Semi-Pro (2008)
A pretty messy film but worth a second viewing because of how funny Ferrell is no matter what the film is.
Stehako's rating:

The Hammer (2007)
I was actually an extra in this unconventionally funny story of a semi-pro boxer; but I'm not what makes it good it's the unconventional humor that does and an honest performance from Corolla.
Stehako's rating:

Baby Mama (2008)
These ladies are a funny pair, I'm sure we'll see more of them in the upcoming years.
Stehako's rating:

Shine a Light (2008)
A much less-successful concert movie than Scorsese's "The Last Waltz"
Stehako's rating:

Gonzo (2008)
It's a tough thing, taking on such a prolific and obscure person, but this delivers enough of what we want. I would have loved a more Gonzo approach to the cinematography and editing. It was too straight forward.
Stehako's rating:

Cruz is stunning as usual, and shows quite a bit of skin. Almost so much that it distracts me from the so-so story.
Stehako's rating:

Morning Light (2008)

A documentary about young sailors. Really made me crave the open sea and get on a boat myself... so actually it was just as frustrating.
Stehako's rating:

A well-acted, well-developed story that leads to a ballsy ending. I didn't quite believe the actions that are taken by the main character at the end, but it's still strong and effective.
Stehako's rating:

Herb & Dorothy (2008)
A great story of a couple who are true lovers of art. It's a story that needed to be told but unfortunately this documentary doesn't unfold the story in a very good way.
Stehako's rating:

Hancock (2008)
I feel like they didn't make this as awesome as they could have because they were setting it up for a sequel; too bad one won't be made.
Stehako's rating:

Charlie Bartlett (2008)
Possibly a star-making role for Yelchin. He is pretty solid in this clever but non entirely original movie.
Stehako's rating:

Frozen River (2008)
Melissa Leo invests so much in this role, it's truly depressing in a cold, beautiful way.
Stehako's rating:

Horton Hears a Who! (2008)
Carrey and Carell lose their wonderful facial/physical comedy and try out their voices in a decent rendition of a Seuss classic.

Stehako's rating:

Shiah running around a lot, again; but this time without five-story robots
Stehako's rating:

Transsiberian (2008)
While this film is frustrating throughout it has some twists and turns that made it entertaining as a whole. A pretty solid cast delivers with what's a fairly weak script.

Stehako's rating:

Son of Rambow (2007)

This raucous yet sweet film stars two young Brits coming to age through adventures of filmmaking and friendship.
Stehako's rating:

The Visitor (2007)
Jenkins has always been a great supporting actor and he proves here he can hold his own with his role here. Love the ending.
