1. Because we have ALL been there...in the position that we only just then realize how much we love the person that is standing right there in front of us. Only in the real world, tearful confessions don't get us James McAvoy.

2. Because it occurs after what is possibly the most embarrassing erroneous delivery ever. If the boy has the courage to show his face after what he wrote in that note, we have to love him!

3. Because that kiss is the best answer ever to the question "Why are you crying?"

1. Because they were supposed to be together from the beginning. You could see throughout the entire movie how they weren't really living or whole without eachother. The ending was really only righting wrongs.

3. Because it's almost the opposite of the one above. Fate had tried to tear them apart, but in the end, they won out.

1. Because they've gone through the entire sixties together--suffered the war, suffered the race riots, surfed through on an acid high, and all in a two hour period. It split them apart and took so many of their friends. A rooftop reunion is a perfect end to a pretty memorable decade.

2. Because if Janis Joplin and Jimmy hendrix are trying to keep you together, you say yes sir and ma'am and you get back together.

3. Because, once again, love is so much more potent to music.

4. Because it made me forget for a moment that Janis and Jimmy die, and that Jude will eventually be caught and deported thanks to the wonderful U.S. immigration laws...and just see the love. All you need is love!

2. Because he loves her from the beginning and tries to stay with her through everything. Her alcoholism drives them apart, but in the end, the love is there through it all.

3. Because it's not only about a couple anymore. This is the reconciliation of an entire family, which makes the ending that much more happy.

1. Because there is something poetic about a man who has never been good with words finding a Southern Belle who falls in love with him just before he goes off to war. And something even more poetic about his journey through Hell to get back to her. I suppose Homer discovered this a little bit before I did.

2. Because I absolutely LOVE a first kiss that brings them both to their knees.

3. Because through all of the destruction of war, and all of the death that he sees. Though everything around him is ugly and hateful and he can't see a reason for the world to keep on turning, he looks to her to keep his world on it's axis.

4. Because the terrors of war reach home too, and after all that she has to learn to live on her own without him, she keeps him in her heart and never once allows it to enter her mind that he won't come back to her.

1. Because we instinctively root for the underdog, and a Jewish waiter on a vandalized pull-horse in the middle of the fascist Italy of WWII stealing the rich, pure-blood bride of one of his serving parties is just about as underdog as you can get.

2. Because of the lengths that she goes to to be near her husband...and the lengths that he goes to to save their son from the horrors that he's smack-dab in the middle of.

3. Because of all of the tiny details that happen to get them together...makes you want to believe in fate again!

4. Because if anyone can create a boy-gets-girl story so amazingly beautiful that I can forget that the leading man is a clumsy, bumbling, not-so-great-looking old Italian nerd, then that man deserves a place on this list.

An evil priest who happened to be in love with the woman placed a form of curse on the couple. By day,the woman is a hawk and by night, she converts into herself, but by day, the man is human, and by night he is a wolf.

The reason behind the happy ending:

1. Because there is an evil wizard, and an unbreakable curse, and the undying love of two people (sort of) who can never be together. It's another adult fairy tale.

2. Because they suffer for so long being so much in love and so close to each other...of depending on each other by day and by night as animals and nothing more, and so when the curse is finally broken, and Isabeau sees the light of day with human eyes for the first time, the meeting between the two is magic.

3. Because of her reproach of the priest in the end. She takes the ties that used to tie her to his arm as a hawk and throws them at his feet. That hatred in those eyes is...convincing.

4. Because he thought that she was dead and was seconds away from killing the priest before he could break the curse...but her voice brought him back.

I'm here to rescue you...

1. Because he came on his galliant steed like the Prince Charming that he is to rescue her, only to find out that she rescued herself!

1. Because they've been in love since high school. They've lived some wonderful times, and some not-so-wonderful times, but even a disappearance to New York can't kill the electricity (hee hee hee!) that they have.

Because it ends in a war of words worthy of the small town Southern white trash that she is trying so hard not to be, and it's followed by a passionate kiss in the rain...in a wedding dress that had to cost a fortune...in between a dozen poles that are made to attract lightning...without a care in the world.
