Walt Disney

Walt Disney may be considered just a very active producer of the full length films he created. He isn't credited with the director title. However, every documentary, book, and commentary, I have ever listened to on the making of Walt Disney films created while he was living he was a director. He being one of my most favorite people anyway he will have to top this list.

Wes Anderson

Great directors are ones who transport you to a very different world.In his movies the visual interest alone is a rocket ship, but add in his stories and characters and I never want to come home. If I could have one director direct my life it would, most definitely, HAVE TO BE...Wes Anderson.

Nancy Meyers

Even when I don't know I am watching a Nancy Meyers film..I know I am watching a Nancy Meyers film! They are so distinct. Her characters are always layered and deliver great one liners that stick with me my whole life and all her films are really and truly BEAUTIFUL! They are modern fairy tales and they always have those scenes where I realize a dream I never knew I had; meeting my British wedding gown designing mother for the very first time in the most beautiful home I have ever seen, going to Paris to celebrate my birthday in the most beautiful cafe I have ever seen, trading houses with a stranger and ending up in THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY COTTAGE (or hollywood mansion) I. HAVE. EVER. SEEN!!! Get the picture?!

P.J. Hogan

I don't live a 'charmed life' but if I did one of my interviews would start with "I guess I knew I wanted to direct movies when I was 12 and saw Peter Pan for the first time." followed with "Yes, I guess I owe much my success to P.J. Hogan". Even though My Best Friend's Wedding is a box office smash hit I just cant get over Peter Pan. The music, the characters, and the world, He just did the classic story perfectly!
