Fargo (1996)
Yeah, this is my personal favorite comedy overall, but seeing as there are a few different sub-categories for comedies, it really is super hard to say. Let's say 'Fargo' is the best movie as a whole out of these selections. It's simply a masterpiece, and a BLACK comedy.
The Cineast's rating:
Knocked Up (2007) (2016)
Some may call it a problem, but I don't mind being easily impressed by Seth Rogen, in ANYTHING he's in. He's the main reason why 'Knocked Up' is ranked so highly. Not to mention, I simply enjoy the Apatow incorporated humor, and consider it to be maybe the funniest stuff out there, whereas others just acknowledge its existence, but aren't particularly moved by it.
I've seen 'Knocked Up' numerous times, and it's still just hilarious to me. Also smart in a lot of ways.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Decisions decisions decisions. Sometimes I prefer 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall', other times I'm just in the mood for 'Knocked Up'. 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' and 'I Love You, Man' also fall into the category. I just simply cannot decide which I like more. They are all similar in my eyes, so I'll just call them all even for now.
Back on subject, 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' is one of the best comedies I've seen, ever. Jason Segel is great, really exposing the heartbroken, grieving man that is Peter Bretter. Each line is flawless, the writing is great, it never gets stale, and most importantly, it has a huge impact on me when I'm feeling down, or just in general. It's a feel-good story, packed with a punch of realism.

Honorable Mentions (Not in Top 35)
I have a sweet spot for nice little comedies. I tend to take it a bit easier in terms of rating them. There are some bad ones, but here are my favorites.
Black comedies included, plus some goofy slapstick stuff.
Most are in order, not all.
