Dressed to Kill (1980)
There are actually quite few really important erotic thrillers but this is definitely one of them. The museum scene, which is clearly inspired by Hitchcock's "Vertigo", is only one of the several impressive moments in the film. This scene includes many kind of clever details like paintings and all the moves the characters make. All the characters are also interesting: The blonde woman played by talented and sexy Angie Dickinson is very feminine and vulnerable in a special way and her extremely intelligent son who is an inventor is crucial to the plot. Michael Caine is charismatic as always and Nancy Allen is convincing as a prostitute.

"Carrie" is a film about a bullied girl who learns about her supernatural powers after having her first period. Her special gift is naturally a deadly weapon in certain circumstances. However, Carrie's mother is a religious maniac and as great as her powers are they cannot give her love and peace which are necessary for every human being. In spite of supernatural elements the way the film explores the topic of bullying is very believable.

Scarface (1983)
The main character of "Scarface" - a remake of Howard Hawks's gangster film with the same name - is a Cuban refugee Tony Montana, who is trying to achieve the ultimate happiness in the USA. Basically this movie tells about difficulties regarding the American Dream and it shows what may happen if you decide that the end justify the means.
