Best movies of 2004

Note: Had Kill Bill been released as a single, full-length film instead of split in two, this would be number one for 2004.

In telling the story of my father's life, it's impossible to separate fact from fiction, the man from the myth. The best I can do is to tell it the way he told me. It doesn't always make sense and most of it never happened... but that's what kind of story this is.

A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal.

Wandering around our America has changed me more than I thought. I am not me any more. At least I'm not the same me I was.

Watching this & reading Fast Food Nation in the same year convinced me to give up fast food altogether & be more conscious of my food choices. Not that I loved fast food mind you, but I used to eat at a handful of those restaurants on a pretty regular basis. Plus I used to just eat whatever I thought tasted good without looking into where it came from or what was actually in it. Doing some research & paying better attention to ingredients has helped improve my dietary habits, and I partly have this film to thank.
