Underworld (2003)

Kate looks so damn good in leather. Maybe I was distracted; but I couldn't get into the story at all. I'm also not a fan of the whole vampire genre.
Stehako's rating:

The Good Thief (2003)
Good grief, it took a lot of effort to really get into this droll story full of characters you never really care about. Still, there are some well-constructed scenes and the music helped.
Stehako's rating:

I did not see the appeal in this foreign flick. I tried to watch it a couple of times and could barely get through it. Kind of like "Cache"
Stehako's rating:

The Battle of Shaker Heights (2003)
Shia Leboeuf finds himself in the tough spot of being a Nickelodeon actor and a real actor, but finding himself in this half-assed movie.
Stehako's rating:

Dreamcatcher (2003)

The first time I saw this, I actually really liked it, it played with my mind and surprised me a few times. The second time, I was amazed at this poor excuse for filmmaking.
Stehako's rating:

Narc (2003)
As they say in 'Entourage' Jason Patric is intense. He is paired up with another intense actor, Ray Liotta. These guys aren't bad but the story seems stale and the color grading is pale, making this also a drab film to watch, but at least it fits with the story being told.
Stehako's rating:

Uptown Girls (2003) (2003)
While nothing original comes out of this it was a pleasant surprise and a cute film. Yes, I said cute film.
Stehako's rating:

Alex & Emma (2003)
Nothing bad about this romantic film; but... nothing really that good either. At least it had a unique concept.
Stehako's rating:

Secret Things (2002)
The moody cinematography and lead actresses make this a pleasant film to watch albeit one with little substance or heart.
Stehako's rating:

Gerry (2002)

Beautiful imagery and interesting experimenting with rhythms and compositions but wow, what a boring fucking movie.
Stehako's rating:

Ghosts of the Abyss (2003)
On par with Cameron's "Aliens in the Deep" It was basically a show on Discovery, and an average one at that.
Stehako's rating:

Like in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" there is an Elvis/Pharaoh connection.
Stehako's rating:

Brother Bear (2003)
Nice try, Disney, nice try. You should probably just rely on Pixar and your sports movies. Enough of these, please.
Stehako's rating:

Laurel Canyon (2003)
Director: Lisa Cholodenko
Her 2nd Movie
My 3rd movie watched from the director
One of Bale's weakest selections in movies. I can see the appeal as the premise is promising, but the direction, editing, and overall production is second rate. It's just overall a little entertaining, never bad, but never surprising or really good... I'm just having a tough time trying to understand the point of it, too. The five main actors are fine as they are all top-tier actors just not given enough.

Dirty Pretty Things (2002)
Toutou wasn't nearly as dirty or pretty as I had hoped in this.
Stehako's rating:

The Station Agent (2003)
Dinklage leads a solid cast in this slice of life movie that entertains but doesn't take us anywhere.
Stehako's rating:

National Security (2003)
Zahn and Lawrence probably won't be doing any more films together.
Stehako's rating:

Winged Migration (2001)

Very cool visuals; but it really is basically a bunch of birds flying. I could watch that on National Geographic Channel.
Stehako's rating:

Secondhand Lions (2003)
I'm not really sure what this film was trying to be. The acting was good and story was good; that's as much as I can put down without going into a series of questions. And I don't think that was the director's intent.
Stehako's rating:

Peter Pan (2003)
The trailer made it look surreal and possibly... special? Boy did they fool us.
Still, not a bad film though.
Still, not a bad film though.
Stehako's rating:

Phone Booth (2002)
Dammit, Whitaker.
I think Willis needs to get Whitaker's agent, because clearly this guy can't act yet he gets gigs.

Stehako's rating:

Ok, now the confidence is getting out of hand.
Stehako's rating:

Radio (2003)
This film was trying too hard and didn't have resounding success. However, I still watched the entire thing and enjoyed what it was about. Gooding Jr does a fine job; but the supporting cast could have been a little more supportive.
Stehako's rating:

Poolhall Junkies (2003)
The highlight of this movie, of course, is Walken. If I didn't find pool and billiards so interesting I probably wouldn't have cared much for this movie.
Stehako's rating:

I'm not sure where the full entertainment I was expecting went...
Stehako's rating:

Is she guilty or not? Not sure?
Is she crazy, absolutely!
Is she crazy, absolutely!
Stehako's rating:

A cast of future stars does well with the authentic dialogue. It's story of love and friendship and sort of a coming-of-age with people in their twenties.
Stehako's rating:

Matchstick Men (2003)
Rockwell and Lohman do a good job of making Cage not look bad.
Stehako's rating:

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
I usually put one or two romantic comedies on here and this one certainly deserves a spot. Kate Hudson is adorable and and Matty McC is at least tolerable. Could have used a little more Goldberg though, that guy IS gold.
Stehako's rating:

Swimming Pool (2003)
Not a whole lot happens in this film; but at least the title accurate.
Stehako's rating:

The Dancer Upstairs (2002)
John Malcovich actually directs this impressive first feature for an actor/now director. While he isn't starring in it, the very talented Bardem is, and he is the highlight of this strange detective/revolution story.
Stehako's rating:

Tears of the Sun (2003)
Cool title, not-as-cool film. Willis needs a new agent. Monica Bellucci is gorgeous but her some of her important assets are too constrained in this film
Stehako's rating:

Out of Time (2003)
Denzel is the lead in a Spanish-Prisoner style action movie that would be half as good if he were not the star.
Stehako's rating:

Easily the least-likable of the trilogy. It's hard to top T2. The new baddie was cool and hot in that outfit. The kids brought it down a little and some of action seemed a little cheap.
Stehako's rating:

I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but thankfully it wasn't half bad. My kid really likes and that makes it better. It's just a nice story for kids to watch.
Stehako's rating:

Spellbound (2002) (2003)
Just a little more interesting than the actual National Spelling Bee.
Stehako's rating:

In America (2002)
Hell's Kitchen never looked so good, I mean bad. I don't know, but this film of an Irish immigrant family tugs at the heart and soul with such ease. Hounsou is someone to look for, too.
Stehako's rating:

Shattered Glass (2003)
Hayden Christiansen CAN act, he just needs a good script and director (unlike in 'Clones')
