Doctor Doom
Silver screen: Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silve Surfer
Played by: Julian McMahon
Granted, the silver-screen adaptation of such a villianous character wasn't very appealing but amist the not-so-exicting cast, Julian McMahon delivered just about everything but with less force!
Anyways, I got introduced to the Doctor is quite a strange way: For my 8th (or was it 9th?) birthday, my Dad bought me 3 toy cars. You know, the die-cast models. They had pictures of Marvel characters: Spider-Man, Venom & Dr. Doom! Since I already knew the former two, I suddenly became very interested in the newcomer!
I went to Wikipedia and must've read everything & anything there was written about Dr. Doom and his powers, his backstory and everything. I admit that his backstory wasn't as exciting as, let's say, Wolverine, Magneto, Hulk etc... but It was noble & realistic!
Then I started watching the Amazing Spider-Man series featuring Dr. Doom on Youtube and my respect just grew & grew. So cold, so menacing and none of those witty, stupid one-liners!
I saw him as the 'very one' villain in Marvel. I saw him as the Genghis-Khan of Marvel. I saw him as The Joker of Marvel: Eternally feared, hardly forgiving & seldom matched!
I was so hooked, I wanted more & more of the (bad) Doctor and as if they understood my yearning, Ravensoft created probably the best Marvel-themed game ever: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance which has many colourful and not-so-colourful characters!
The thing that impressed me most was that Doctor Doom was the one pulling the strings. He was the genius behind the whole Masters Of Evil thingy and boy o boy, the cutscene where It shows several X-Men characters + The Hulk lying all broken, bruised & bloody earned several points from me. How bad-ass can you get? He kidnapped a God, defeated The Hulk, made several demented versions of beloved heroes and actually outwitted Loki!
Whether we are talking Marvel, DC, Image, Horse etc..., there truly cannot be a villain as bad-ass, yet dignified, as Dr. Doom!

I'm not much of a comic-book reader nowadays but in my childhood I used to read a-lot of comics and play superhero themed games a-lot!
