10 years, 4 months ago at Jan 1 20:15 - Carrying on the Listal Instant project into the new year where Listal members recommend lesser known movies that are available to watch on Netflix streaming - the rules will be the same as last year:
Rules:
1. Each month drop by this thread and recommend two (2) movies that are streaming on Netflix.
2. All films recommended must have been seen and/or rated by no more than 300 Listal users. (Check the film's Listal page & look at the number in the blue box over the word "Ratings")
3. In addition to the two (2) films you can recommend each month, if you have seen a film someone else has recommended you can throw your support behind it. There is no limit to the number of films you can support, provided they have all been recommended by others.
4. Do not recommend any films not available on Netflix Instant Watch.
5. Please provide links to the Listal pages for the movies you recommend, so we can be sure to watch the right ones (especially important for movies that have been remade).
6. Watch the films others recommend, then let us know what you think of them by coming back & supporting the ones you like!

10 years, 4 months ago at Jan 4 10:39 - I haven't looked at Netflix Instant for a while, so I don't have any recommendations right now. But, I fully support Children of a Lesser God. Marlee Matlin won an Oscar and Golden Globe for best actress in this role. :)

This is one of the best slashers. If you don't like slashers, watch it anyhow. Just pretend I said horror instead of the s-word. It's really surprising.

@AesthetiX - I agree with jaytoast that it will pick up as the year goes along, I've been having trouble getting my movie year started myself, I think I needed a little vacation after watching 700 plus movies the last two years, but I have a pile of DVDs on my counter in need of watching, so I will start again soon :)

I'm a big fan of musicals and I loved the first Shrek film. So I definitely have to recommend this one, edited from the various live performances it is not as good as the animated film but still an enjoyable affair.

Keanu's directorial debut is a really silly actioner. It's a lot of fun. Just take it the right way and don't expect to see blood.
