even though this film is way diffrent than the books It's still worth a watch, Robert Downey jr's character in this film is really well acted it's scary at times, James spader is well acted as well, and andrew mcarthy seems like he's boring in this film but he's not even if you don't really care for this film the score is really brilliant I had found it on youtube and that alone sticks with me whi... read more

Ohh I can give this film a chance, it wasn't all bad I guess. I kinda didn't like the smug Brad Pitt init, mind you I bet he weren't to smug when he only got 38 bucks. Anyway I guess it's a film for Downey Jr. fans, I mean you can sure tell the drugs are getting to him, poor boy, good thing he's off them now.

Overall it's an average film.

1 - Robert Downey Jr.! (47 movies items)

"12 His performance really surprised me in this movie. It's an old one and I didn't expect it to be that good. He played a coke addict who was trying to get clean. He was savagely gorgeous but some of it was hard to watch. He was really very good, it was disturbing. Aside from that he was very energetic and fun though he did go through a lot of the movie trying to scheme money from people. From all the pretty actors that I've liked this actor again made me see what real beauty and talent loo"

PopMatter's Essential Film Performances - 2010 (50 movies items)

"LIFE SUPPORT Robert Downey Jr. In written form, Less Than Zero is a thing of brusque cruelty. Its cinematic counterpart is icier, but its frenzied sentimentality is maybe a little more human. The book’s characters are faceless blurs, captured in stark, clear, English. Their screen personae, however, are clearly frail and fractured. The film depicts real youth with unreal privilege. It’s a neon flood of gauche fashion and loud music, almost unbearably rooted to its time. However, it continues"
