"Some people had a field day, with the idea of a film filled with talking turtles who just happen to know martial arts, wayward teenagers stealing things, amongst other things, enough to have the Turtles considerably dialed down for the sequel. Interesting fact: The depiction of nunchucks on screen was rarely allowed in the UK, so the movie was heavily cut or reframed to remove every last trace of them for it’s original theatrical exhibition."

" Date: 4/3/2020 Viewed: Netflix Re-Watch Note: I decided to revisit this movie on Netflix because it's been 30 years since this movie came out. Even though I was more into Power Rangers as a kid in the 90s, I still watch the TMNT cartoon show on TV and would also watch the first two movies on VHS. This movie is still not a bad movie, but it is far from being great. The special effects and action sequences still hold up pretty well. Jim Henson did a fantastic job on the suits in the movie in "
"26.3. 2020 Movies like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" are more like commercial products instead of traditional movies. Its only real purpose is to promote all those countless products related to its brand, nothing else. Nothing about the absurd plot make any sense which isn't a surprise since you can't really even expect anything logical from a movie with a title like this. The turtles are so obviously just people wearing silly costumes that even little kids aren't going to be impressed by them"

"One of the most stupid concepts ever conceived, but it worked somehow thanks to it self-awareness. With that said, I always thought this concept would work better as a cartoon, when you see real people disguised as turtles doing these things, it's not funny, it is cringey. I never got to watch the first one when I was a kid but I did watch its sequels, which are bad, yet I kept hearing that the first one is actually good. Well I watched it this year and while it was certainly better than its se"
