Tehosteet ovat tässä erittäin näyttäviä, vaikkakin hyvin maltillisia. Teemaltaan Arrival käsittelee enemmän sitä, mitä ihmiset voivat oppia avaruuden ulkopuolisesta elämästä ja miten kommunikoida vieraiden elämänmuotojen kanssa.
