This sort of reminds me of Who's Driving Doug that I watched last month although the cast here is much bigger. Also this based on a novel of course. This looks to be Rob Burnett's first venture into writing/directing a film. I was wondering what was going on there. He definitely does have a unique sense of humor. Yeah this kid is definitely an asshole and it's hilarious. Ah the witty and serious b... read more

To be honest, this movie was not really a high priority but since it was on Netflix and since it was suggested by one of my favorite listal members, I thought I might as well check it out.  Well, eventually, I had a hard time to judge the damned thing. First of all, care-giving is one the greatest jobs ever, in fact, it was a job that my father had for a while, mostly because he was/is a foreigne... read more

"REDEEMING FACTORS: I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit. The performances were good (especially Craig Roberts) and it's a decent movie night flick for whatever mood you might be in. WHY IT'S HERE: It's so damn predictable. I feel like I've seen a THOUSAND of these, with the same formula, and the same sequence of events. Pretty much every step of the way I was able to predict, successfully, what was going to happen next. It doesn't contribute anything meaningful to cinema evolution or histo"

Miika's Movie Diary - 2018 (187 movies items)

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- July 2016 (38 movies items)

" Netflix- 1hr 37min. First Viewing The cast is exceptionally charming, carrying the film on their shoulders (Rudd, in particular, is superb), but The Fundamentals of Caring goes through the entire Sundance checklist. It all starts off pretty strongly, but once the movie hits the road it becomes a pretty mixed bag. It's watchable enough, though not thoroughly enough to give a legitimate endorsement. "

First of all, care-giving is one the greatest jobs ever, in fact, it was a job that my father had for a while, mostly because he was/is a foreigner without enough qualifications so it was basically the only thing he would be hired for. Anyway, this movie gave a decent view on this job but there was still enough stuff that did bother me though. First of all, even though Trevor was described as a supposedly impossible client, the guy seemed to be pretty relaxed, witty and with a healthy sense of humor and I'm pretty sure my dad would have bee” read more

2016 Movies - Worst to Best IMO... (268 movies items)

"Craig Roberts and Paul Rudd are flawless. But the story is weak and the premise has been done to death. I just got done reading a review by somebody else that basically outlines how the script seemed to hit every predictable road trip/people with illness/coping with grief movie checklist cliche imaginable. Still, if it's your kind of thing I do recommend this one. Cause it actually is quite funny. It will lift your spirits, just don't expect it to change your life... "
