"Classic rags to riches Shaw Brothers martial arts movie about a simple young man Ma who wants to become a legendary gangster like his mentor Tan Si but in doing so he crosses paths with another gangster Boss Yang. There are numerous fights but nothing can match the brutal extended final fight when Ma takes on Yang's army and his Four Kings. It is bloody and Ma has to fight them all with an ax stuck to his stomach. Chen Kuan-tai is fantastic as Ma and excels as a fighter. Even though he's a small"
