2016 Movies Seen (106 movies items)

"Loving focuses more on the relationship between the couple the film features and pushes the actual court proceedings and general reactions of the case to the background which was an interesting choice I have to say. I was hoping for a little courtroom drama and on that front I was disappointed as it has none of that. A low key film that avoids the trappings of over-dramatizing events but I have to wonder if Loving may have went a bit too far in the other direction instead. It tried in a couple o"

Pros: An up-and-coming director with a lot of indie cred (i.e. Take Shelter, Mud, Midnight Special), a solid cast, and real-life material that screams OSCAR!!! November to December 2016 Tomatometer Predictions (25 movies items)

"Tomatometer Guess: 80%. Actual Score: 91%. Though I preferred Jeff Nichols' other film from earlier this year, Midnight Special, Loving is still a gripping and heartbreaking drama with amazing performances from Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton."

"SYNOPSIS โ€œLovingโ€ celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an interracial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving, who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme Court, which in 1967 reaffirmed the very foundation of the right to marry โ€“ making their love story an inspiration to couples everywhere. "

My Way Too Early 2017 Oscar Predictions (19 movies items)

"And the Nominees Could Possibly Be... *Amy Adams- Arrival/b> *Annette Bening- 20th Century Women/b> *Emily Blunt- The Girl on the Train/b> *Jessica Chastain- The Zookeeper's Wife/b> *Ruth Negga- Loving/b> This category is largely comprised of women who are due (or overdo) to win one. Amy Adams is essentially seen now as the female Leonardo DiCaprio; she's been nominated five previous times without any success. That could very well change this year with not one, but two high profile titles (th"
