"9 / 10 - I don't remember crying that much with a movie, it warms your heart with such a encouraging and real life story with a wonderful direction and extremely well chosen cast with amazing perfomances. I have to say that both Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman were incredibly raw and it's difficult not to feel what they are feeling, and ugh the looks they give at each other are just... glory. Also, teaches you a lot with all the messages it sends. It may not be the best movie of the year but it's wo"

" "Sarooooo" Lion is the most heartwrenching movie from 2016 for me. There are some great dramas from 2016, probably even better than the Lion, but this was the saddest for me, and that's kinda the most important thing when I watch some drama. And it's not only drama there are some funny and uplifting scenes too. Also the acting was great."
"And the nominees are... *Luke Davies- Lion *Eric Heisserer- Arrival *Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney- Moonlight/b> *Allison Schroeder and Theodore Melfi- Hidden Figures *August Wilson- Fences And the Oscar goes to... While Hidden Figures is popping at just the right time, and Arrival represents an incredibly tricky narrative feat, Moonlight the only possible Picture winner here, and that'll likely carry it over. It’s a bit refreshing for a film that finds itself as a power player in the Oscar race. I doubt Lion will win much, but it’s quietness, it’s emotionally naked and honest performances are most welcome breathers between the louder entries in this year’s race. At its best moments, Lion is a film about a man trapped between two worlds, lost between his past and present, and uncomfortable with looking too far into his future. The story is undeniably moving and uplifting in its truth, but something funny happens between the two halves that make up its structure. The first moves along at a breezy, consistently engaging clip, th” read more
"Simultaneously heart-wrenching and uplifting, this film's careful handling of a tough subject matter is to be rewarded, with only needing a touch of trimming being the sole reservation. 9.3/10"
"12/2/17 Truly remarkable film based on the true story of a man, brought up in Australia, searching for his real home and real mother in India by using Google Earth. Heartbreaking, uplifting and inspirational, it has one of the best performances from a child actor and Dev Patel is superb as the older version. Superb."

"Lion is a truly exceptional movie and this story will stay with me forever. The casting, the story, the cinematography and the amazing music was done perfectly and I actually cannot fault this movie. The performances are all topnotch (especially Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman). It is mind blowing and makes you appreciate how lucky you are to have whatever it is you have in a seriously humbling way. If you appreciate good movies, this one is a must."
