License to straight fantasy, in contrast to first part in Edimburgh. It lacks of tthe rythm and energy of the classic adventure, but the set design, the FX and acting by Mason, pretty Dahl, are worth the film.
Prof. Lindenbrook leads his intrepid party on an expedition to the centre of the earth, via a volcano in Iceland, encountering all manner of prehistoric monsters and life-threatening hazards on the way.
