1001 Movies ... my own version (2010's) (100 movies items)

" Notes: I have been faithfully following Ken Loach for more than 20 years and, to be honest, I has been a while that the guy delivered something so impressive. Indeed, Loach managed to deliver one of his best movies which was rather unexpected as many including myself thought that his best movies were already behind him. Anyway, once again, he gave us another socially relevant and really powerful tale and, in this case, it was even more heartbreaking as it all felt terribly familiar. Indeed, m"

"23.5. Kafkamaista taistelua koneistoa vastaan. Sinänsä siis varsin lupaava premissi, mutta ihan ei nyt elokuva osannut hurmata. Oliko se sitten sen hassuttelevuus, turha karikatyyrimainen kärjistely vai mikä. Ohi meni Kultainen palmu 2016."

Hit Or Miss? Good Or Bad? 2019 Movies Watched (461 movies items)

"A hard hitting, raw and honest look at how the British system is failing it's own people. Daniel Blake is a middle-aged carpenter who's taken a few recent knocks, one of which is suffering a heart-attack and deemed not able to return to work. It's a position no one would want to be in, forced to sacrifice your own health or lose everything you have worked so hard for. The viewer gets to witness the hurdles that seem purposely put there to hinder payments. How are people such as Daniel Blake su"

A very good movie

“Since I kept hearing some really good things about this flick (it even won the prestigious Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival), I was really eager to check it out. Well, I have been faithfully following Ken Loach for more than 20 years and, to be honest, I has been a while that the guy delivered something so impressive. Indeed, my wife has been terribly ill for already 8 years and, even though we live in the Netherlands and not in the UK, she had to face the s” read more

"Directed by: Ken Loach Plot: After having suffered a heart-attack, a 59-year-old carpenter must fight the bureaucratic forces of the system in order to receive Employment and Support Allowance.
