"Re-watch - Oct. 23rd No October Horrorfest is ever complete without at least one Vincent Price film, so when I saw my local theatre was screening House of Wax I was all in. And then I found out it'd be in 3-D and there was no way I'd miss it for anything. Turns out the 3-D technology actually works with modern "Real 3D" glasses, and so the film wound up being quite a treat. “The original selling point for House of Wax was the 3D technology and stereophonic sound, not to mention the completely unnatural color scheme (not a complaint), but the film’s legacy remains in Vincent Price’s tortured, hammy performance. Come for can-can dancers sticking their legs and rumps directly into the camera, stay for Price’s burn victim makeup and stalking the night for corpses. It’s that kind of delightfully trashy movie. "Classic horror with Vincent Price as the owner of a wax museum who will stop at nothing to save it from closure, even to the point of murder. Dated now but brimming with colour and you can see the obvious moments where the 50's 3D came into effect. Still has plenty of atmospheres and look out for Charles Bronson in an early appearance as Price's henchman. "
