Notes:
*I wasn't too sure what to think of this with the trailer not really grabbing me to be honest.
*I mostly didn't care for it because of Melanie Lynskey being kind of boring to me.
*This is Macon Blair's first movie as a director although he wrote a horror movie called Monkey's Paw as well.
*Anyways it's a Netflix original and I was bored so I decided to tune in.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie but since it was recommended by one of my favorite listal members, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, to be honest, even if it turned out to be a decent watch, I'm afraid it didn't really work for me. I mean, the beginning was pretty good and I really liked the main character thanks to a solid performance by Melanie Lynskey. Concerning Elijah... read more

Well, to be honest, even if it turned out to be a decent watch, I'm afraid it didn't really work for me. I mean, the beginning was pretty good and I really liked the main character thanks to a solid performance by Melanie Lynskey. Concerning Elijah Wood, he was also pretty good, even if his character was slightly too quirky for my taste. Eventually, the main issue I had was that, even though the state of mind of the main character was interesting and relatable, I just didn't care much about her quest. Seriously, what did she expect to achieve? I mean, she was lucky enough to find back her most valuable stolen goods so what was the point of ” read more

Top 20 Films of 2017 (20 movies items)

" It makes sense Macon Blair directed and wrote this since it shares a lot of similarities to his first starring role in Blue Ruin. Like that film, it takes a lot of tropes/cliches of a certain genre and flips them. With this being the classic vigilante/righting wrongs story, these are not badass heroes or evil criminal masterminds. These feel like real people. Melanie Lynskey was captivating and she makes her sadness understandable and you really root for her to win. Elijah Wood was a blast and"

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- March 2017 (32 movies items)

" Netflix- 1hr. 37min. First Viewing At times it goes for a strangeness that seems a bit forced, but I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore. is a mostly fun, darkly-comedic thriller that draws most of it's power from the performances of its leads Lynskey and Wood. It does start a bit slow, and the middle is a bit doughy, but the last act and certain sections are strong enough to recommend. "
