This movie had potential to be funny and memorable, but then they cast Jennifer Garner and hired a director that had no idea what they were doing... Then again, Garner is supposed to be unlikable so it worked here... but still, she is so bad, how does she still get high profile gigs?

Butter never goes as balls deep as it often threatens. It’s shallow thrusts at political satire, race, and conservative middle Americana and its weird folksy rituals. These two points often converge, and Butter often questions if what she needs is just a big orgasm to get her to calm down or if political mobility and craven power grabs are her orgasmic expressions.
