Top 10 Worst Theme Songs in Tokusatsu

Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger

While I do like Takatori, and he performs the song well, the song itself is kinda "meh." It does get some points for the Tarzan scream and animal roll call, but for everything else I just drown out.

The song is literally just the name of the show repeated over and over. And, while they did repeat this again for Mystic Knights, I feel like for that show the fit was a bit more natural.

Gosei Sentai Dairanger

Nothing against the singer personally, but I realized that my frustration with this theme is the way that he sings it. Takayoshi Tanimoto performed a cover of this theme at the 2017 Kamen Rider/Super Sentai live show and for the first time I actually got super into it. Which I can't say about the original version. It even has a Ranger roll call sing-along and I just don't care.

How can a song be so upbeat, yet be so dull at the same time? It's actually a really good indicator of the season itself. Both seem super cool from the outside, but once you indulge in it, you see that it's not very good.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger

The Gokaiger theme has kind of the same problem as the Kyūranger theme. Only the Gokaiger theme is only halfheartedly upbeat. For a show about a bunch of showy pirates, the theme song is super underplaying it.
Heck, it's not even Tsuyoshi's fault. He can pull off the strong vocals that this theme needs. It's more the composer/producer than anything. The song needs more bombast than it was allowed to have.

Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger

This theme, while not actually "bad", has two big strikes against it. One is the intro which, on the album version is just too long, and on the TV version is just super obnoxious. In addition to that, the way the name of the show is sung is just super cringeworthy. While this is partially due to an unfortunate homonym to English speakers, it's also just the way the song is constructed in general.

Gekisou Sentai Carranger

You know your theme song is bad when, at around 10 episodes in, they replace it with a remix. Not that this "remix" actually fixed anything because the theme is still boring as dirt.
Any enthusiasm I have during this song is not real and I'm just feigning my excitement, just like they feigned to have a good theme song.

Warera Omou, Yue ni Warera Ari (We Think, Therefore We Are)

This song is a disgrace to Kamen Rider. Literally every single Kamen Rider theme that I've heard is leagues better than the Ghost theme! (Even "Shounen Yo" from Hibiki grew on me - which yes, despite being the ending, is considered the official theme song) This song makes me want to curl up and go to sleep which, for an action show, is the worst thing for your theme song to make someone want to do.
Rider Chips can save it when they perform a cover, but the original, just no. Go away.

Power Rangers R.P.M.

Screw you! Stop screaming at me!
While the instrumental isn't amazing, the song is perfectly serviceable without vocals. But then people start screaming and I start to get fed up with it.

Power Rangers S.P.D.

Again, this is very similar to the R.P.M. problem. Only it also has this annoying filter added over everything. So not only am I being screamed at, but it's like I'm being screamed at by, what appears to be, a really nasally dude. And this filter also keeps the instrumental from being enjoyable on its own, so really nothing about this song sounds pleasant.
