Worst Movies of 2014 - Xanadon't

But then the movie happened and... what a let down.

Should've contained more quiet charm and smartly comic flashes than it did. Instead this came of as somewhat preposterous and, what's worse, dull.

Lazy direction from Clint Eastwood, probably because this was always going to do no wrong for a sizeable audience so why... you know... try. Well I'm not of that audience. Find a real goddamn baby, for fuck sake.

Oh and maybe learn how the rotation of the earth works. When it's sun high in the sky, mid-day in Texas, it is not sun high in the sky, midday in Iraq on the other end of your fiancée's phone call.

Presents an intriguing internal struggle but the execution is stifling, pretentious, and oh my fucking god dull. This is of the Michael Haneke school of film making, which is mostly to say dour and self-important. What little fascination and reluctant goodwill I still held went out the window when the movie reaches a faux-climax as the whole family throws themselves onto the floor in a wailing, sobbing self-pity party.

I guess I just don't think much of Eastwood's style of filmmaking these days when he makes the list twice.

Touted as Michael Bay's best film in years, or possibly ever, but really it's still just a bloated, rambling piece of brainless garbage. It's not Bay at his most self-aware, it's just more Bay narcissism.

I remember very little of this movie. I'm okay with that.

Exactly as bad as I thought it would be.

Fucking hell, I guess just about anything with a name cast can crack 6 points on IMDB.
