alice is an unforgettable new version of the classic story. this alice remembers being 'down the rabbit hole' as a young girl. now a young woman, she is being 'forced' to accept marrying a man she doesn't care for. again we see that females of that time married for security when their own family was lower class. alice again follows a white rabbit to wonderland where some of the creatures had been waiting for her return. she does what needs doing while reliving most of the same adventures as before. marvelous combination of live action and CGI-- alice for the ages---

amazing CGI in this epic film when earthlings go to pandora to mine an important mineral found nowhere else. as always the attitude of the para-military involved is ''do whatever it takes to get what we need''. kill and destroy anyone and every indiginous creature and their world if they get in our way.

clive owen shines as a man overcome with the loss-to cancer- of his 2nd wife( played by laura fraser). his job as a highly paid sportswriter often gets in his way being a father to his younger son, and his older son from his 1st marriage. the older son had felt abandoned from the time his father left to be with his pre-marriage pregnant second wife. the setting is southern australia and seeing kangaroos hopping around their property is amazing. serious problems arise while clive is forced to attend an english tennis tournament for work. finally life gets worked out enough to believe that ''the boys are back'' is really a reality.

creation concerns the period of time when samuel darwin was seeing the ghost of his dead daughter, whose death he felt responsible for. he couldn't make the decision to actually commit to a book about his 'theory' of evolution. his health had been suffering and he had tried all sorts of 'quack' treatments. then, as today, it is hard to 'put faith' in the remedies of the medical establishment. mercury, taken internally, was big then. his theory was based on his pre-marriage travels to 'exotic places' and his own research.
