Top 10 favourite films of the decade (2000-2009)

Mulholland Drive is my second favourite David Lynch film, behind his other masterpiece Blue Velvet. So full of rich sounds and visual textures and searing with pyschological tension, it is a simply unforgettable film experience.

Angelo Badalamenti's score is masterful, a mix of electronic, orchestral and Jazz sounds. His collaborations with Lynch are surely amongst the greatest film scores ever created. They compliment one another perfectly - Badalamenti's sound seems to grow intuitively out of Lynch's visual world. Together they complete the intense visual and auditory head-trip of Lynchland.

Naomi Watts's performance is one of my personal favourites, delivering a masterclass in acting she shifts effortlessly in tone and reverbates a spectrum emotions.
