SchwarzerAbt: A Guide to My Lists

One of my main contributions here on listal are the "Most Successful Movies of..." lists, which I have created for several actors and directors. I try to keep them up-to-date, but of course I can't update them every week.

This is a whole set of lists concentrating on the success that movies had at the box office worldwide. All data is taken from the site Box Office Mojo.

IMDb is a standard for movie lovers and the Top 250 movies based on their Ratings are considered to be one of the most objective Best of lists that there are.

This list sorts the Top 250 by year, so that you can see which is the best movie of each year for the last few decades, according to IMDb.

I am a huge fan of the Asian cinema, one of my favorite directors is Takashi Miike. His movies aren't always perfect, but they are original - and there are many of them. Miike has the habit of using some actors again and again, if you watch his films closely you can discover many familiar faces, even in the smaller parts. That is why I had the idea for this list, one that I am really proud of. I am still working on this list, so if you like it check back every once in a while for new pictures.

Inspired by this List I decided to chose my own personal favorite movie villains.

All actors that have performed villains in a live-action adaption of the Batman franchise for cinema or television.

The Zodiac was a serial killer who murdered at least five people in the bay area in the late 60s and early 70s. He wrote several letters to newspapers in which he confessed his crimes and announced new crimes. His coded messages have never been decoded completely until today. Nor has the mystery who the Zodiac is been solved.

In his letter from April 24 1978 the Zodiac wrote
"I am waiting for a good movie about me. Who will play me?"

So here is a list of movies about the Zodiac. Some are good, some are not so good.

Neil Kellerhouse is an artist who designs posters for Hollywood and Independent movies. I like his style, so I created this list.

This list is all about these cute and cuddly little animals that are at home at the very south of this planet.

These are the movies that are in any way connected to Trent Reznor and his band Nine Inch Nails. Similar lists exist for Television and Video Games.

This list is about music videos that pay tribute to movies. It is not limited to any music or movie genre and the movie does not have to be a Hollywood blockbuster or anything. The videos only have to meet the following criteria:

- The videos have to be official videos that were released by the artist
- There have to be multiple references to a certain movie
- The scenes have to be re-enacted, no clips from the original

Trent Reznor is my favorite musician. Not only in his work for Nine Inch Nails but also with his other band How to Destroy Angels and as a composer of movie scores.

This list centers around him, his bands and bandmates, his collaborators, his influences and his recommendations in music.

In his book "On Writing - A Memoir of the Craft" the popular author Stephen King has some advice for aspiring young writers. One of it is to read as much as you can. As a help to get started and find interesting and well-written books there is a list of recommendations at the end of the book. These are not his all-time favorite books, but books that he has read over the period of four years before publishing "On Writing". The books influenced his writing on the stories "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon", "Hearts in Atlantis", "From a Buick Eight" and "On Writing" itself. They can work as inspiration for young writers or as pure entertainment.

These are the books that Stephen King personally recommends.
