After leaving Interscope Records Nine Inch Nails have started innovating the distribution models of records. As a thank you to their fans they are giving away this album one hundred percent free on their homepage.

It contains ten songs, of which some are instrumental. The genre is alternative rock / eletronic and to some extent the industrial roots of the band can be heard. The Slip is licensed under a creative common license, so you can do everything with it, except using it for commercial purpose. Nine Inch Nails even released the multi-tracks sources of the songs for everyone to remix.

The Dance Inc. were an electro band from Hamburg, Germany. Combining synth pop music with guitars, they have created very enjoyable music and found a home at Hamburg's Audiolith Records, who specialize in electronic music.

The Diablo Swing Orchestra dates back to 1501 in Sweden, where the legendary The Devils Orchestra overwhelmed audiences and joined the resistance against the crown and the church.

In 2003, two of the original orchestra descendants met in Stockholm and began to discuss music. They searched for other remaining successors of the orchestra and began to make music with them. The result can be described as avant-garde metal with operatic influences and can be downloaded for free at Jamendo.com.

How to Destroy Angels is a band formed by Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, his wife and former West Indian Girl member Mariqueen Maandig-Reznor and his longtime collaborator and score composer Atticus Ross. They have met in the studio in spring 2010 for a first time to make music together and liked the results so much that they decided to publish them as a free-of-charge EP that can be downloaded on their website.

The music is experimental electronic rock, but easy to grasp. A full album is announced for the beginning of 2011, but it is not clear yet if that will also be free of cost.

Hip Hop surely is not my kind of music, but I have to admit that this one is quite decent. West Coast gangster rap with synthesizer beats from Venice, California.
