The Hunger Games is a 2012 American dystopian action film directed by Gary Ross, who co-wrote the screenplay with Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Collins.

It is the first installment in The Hunger Games franchise . The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.

In the film, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson) are forced to compete in the Hunger Games, an elaborate televised fight to the death consisting of adolescent contestants from the 12 Districts of Panem.

In the future, people (mostly teenagers) will compete in a gladiatorial death games, in order to insure theee survivors.

The winners? They get the resources needed for their villages to survive. The losers? Well....

Last years winners? No! More like this year potential losers! That is unless, someone can end this!

Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games: a televised competition in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death.

One part Hard Target, The Lord of the Flies, The Running Man, and Battle Royale. All parts brutal dystopian teen movie.

The film, featured earlier performances by Jack Quaid, Liam Hemsworth, Willow Shields, Isabelle Fuhrman, Alexander Ludwig, and Amandla Stenberg.

Woody Harrelson was in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Wes
Bentley in Ghost Rider, Jack Quaid wax in the TV series, The Boys, and Jennifer Garner in Daredevil and Elektra.

Among its accolades, the song "Safe & Sound" from the soundtrack, performed by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars, won a Grammy Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

For her performance, Lawrence won the Saturn Award for Best Actress, the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress in an Action Movie, the Empire Award for Best Actress, and was also nominated for the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress.

The film was followed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013.

Also, similar to Death Race 2000, Shirley Jackson’s short story, and “The Lottery”.

The Hunger Games has also been conceptually compared to Robert Sheckley's 1953 short story "Seventh Victim" and its 1965 Italian film adaptation by Elio Petri, The 10th Victim, as the story and film feature a government-endorsed, televised (in the film's case) "Big Hunt", featuring contestants from around the world acting as "hunters" and "victims".

For her part, Collin’s inspiration came from the Ancient Rome, and “breads and circus”, professional wrestling, possibly American Gladiator, maybe Survivor and other shows of sorts, the modern Olympics, maybe Ancient Greece and Egypt, and definitely the around the clock coverage of the Gulf War, and before that Operation: Desert Storm.

And now...for our commercials!

Made for $78 million, the odds were in their favour with $695.2 million

For rapid Star Wars fans, this might have as well be when the series died, and died horribly, with the Mouse doing what Darth Vader doing what he could have dreamed of doing.

Killing Star Wars, as a film franchise for good.

While initially being a movie, that garner fairly decent reactions from viewers, some have soured over the MCU over a period, and suggested that Captain Marvel the start of a severe downturn.

With the blame focused solely on Brie Larson.

Scary Movie 5 (2013)
Scary Movie 5, is the first sequel in the Scary Movie spoof franchise that did not star Anna Faris or Regina Hall.

As such, it is also the last sequel in the Scary Movie franchise. Without the previous movies’ funniest ladies, we’re left with Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex, and a bunch of B-listers doing silly cameos in a horror-comedy that tries to poke fun at horror movies such as Paranormal Activity, Sinister, and Insidious but is scarily devoid of any real laughs.

Director Malcolm D. Lee reportedly said of the Razzie-nominated Scary Movie V, “It was just a bad movie. Believe me. Don’t bother going to see that movie. Or renting it, or anything. It’s not worth your time.” That settles it—the director’s cut of Scary Movie V is to cut all of it.
