One of Pixar's highest achievements

Pixar's most colourful and culturally defined motion picture to date, Coco finds the studio back at the top of their game for the umpteenth time. Co-directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and Adrian Molina, Coco yet again demonstrates Pixar's knack for producing entertaining animated features that appeal to children but also possess sufficient emotional heft and sophistication to satisfy older view... read more

A very good movie

Since I have been following Pixar ever since 'Toy Story' was released and since this movie was really well received, I was really eager to check it out. Eventually, I was disappointed. Indeed, it was another great feature coming from Pixar and it shows that they should clearly focus more on some original material instead of constantly releasing some sequels or prequels. Anyway, as usual with these... read more

Todos los clichés de México, en especial los de la necrofilia, a los que se suman y se fuerzan unos alebrijes demasiado fantásticos, en una sola historia que lo mejor que tiene es su tinte melodramático.

2017 Films - Best to Worst (75 movies items)

" Coco is Pixar at their absolute best. A heartfelt tale that delves into themes of cultural importance, family and death with utmost perfection. It's visually dazzling, charming, funny and emotionally satisfying. Coco is one of few films that managed to make me shed a few tears. The narrative doesn't offer any surprises, particularly if you're familiar with other Pixar films, but that doesn't take anything away from the achievement that Coco is. It's quite simply a wonderful film."

Co-directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and Adrian Molina, Coco yet again demonstrates Pixar's knack for producing entertaining animated features that appeal to children but also possess sufficient emotional heft and sophistication to satisfy older viewers. This is a resonant story about family and legacy, set against the backdrop of the Día de los Muertos (or Day of the Dead): a long-standing Mexican festival rich in culture and mythos, making it an ideal candidate for the Pixar treatment. Coco is beautiful and almost unbearably poignant, reinforcing Pixar's transcendent abilities and sense of imagination when they step away from commercially-” read more
