The Adventures of Tintin (2011)
This mo-cap film may look strange when you first see the images, but it shows exactly how dull Tintin would look if it was filmed with real cameras. There'd be no big noses, a distinct lack of cartoon physics and Snowy would be like any other dog. Robert Zemeckis really should've used a cartoony style in Mars Needs Moms like he did in Monster House...

If this counts, this is the show that changed My Little Pony, as well as the internet, whether you like it or not.

Coyote Falls (2010)
The CG Road Runner shorts are a pure delight, every one of them better than the movies they precede (especially Yogi Bear). Even with their 3 minute runtimes and D gimmicks, they may slightly ignore Chuck Jones' opinion of CG versions of 2D characters not being the same, but I'm sure he'd be proud to see how the CG is used. There's squashes, stretches and cloning everywhere, and comedy as bright as it was in the 50's. Plus, they look better than the shorts on The Looney Tunes show.

Horton Hears a Who! (2008)
Even if the end is a pain to listen to, this film stays more faithful to the book (among the modern but tame humour) than the previous two Dr. Seuss adaptations, and should prove another treat for the suckers for Jim Carrey.
Don't get me wrong, I admit that I kinda liked that Grinch movie...

While The Smurfs movie was an insult to childhood with its unoriginality and crude humour overshadowing its surprising sweetness (I haven't even seen it yet), this campy but amusing Smurf version of A Christmas Carol has a better understanding of who the Smurfs really are, both in 2D and CGI, and there's not a single gross-out joke or product placement to be found. It's not even just the same story told yet again.
Max the Movie Guy's rating:

Although it isn't the best treatment Mickey's ever gotten, it sure is a charming Christmas film which captures Mickey's heart even in CG animation. It's even needed here more than it is in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Max the Movie Guy's rating:

Tinker Bell (2008)
Although it does have its obvious flaws, and it does show a bit of obsession over Disney's pop stars, Tinker Bell is one of those more necessary CG conversions/silence-breakers of 2D characters, as it has the right charm, messages and chuckles to appeal to girls without making parents groan, it looks great for a film of its kind, and it's got that John Lasseter spark of invention. Hey, I am a brony, you know!
