I have to include at least one Horror movie in this list, it was either this or The Exorcist but I'm going with this one. John Carpenter does a great job at remaking "The Thing" with gruesome gore and awesome action. Possibly the greatest horror movie remake ever.

Dumb and Dumber (1994)
One of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen, it's a movie every time I watch it I notice something I forgot the last time I watched it because I was laughing too hard from the scene before. A great debut by the Farrelly Brothers.

Seven (1995)
Disturbing and thrilling through most of the entire movie. The ending is still heart-pounding even though I know what's going to happen. Do not watch if you are squeamish.

Toy Story 3 (2010)
A lot darker and dramatic then most of Disney's movies. A great way to "conclude" the Toy Story trilogy.

Stand by Me (1986)
I can't say a whole lot about this movie either. It's a really satisfying and touching movie for me.

Sling Blade (1997)
Billy Bob Thornton has a great performance in this movie and it almost gets me choked up near the end. Again, a really sentimental movie.

Daniel Day-Lewis is one of my most favorite actors and this has to be his best performance in any movie. Great work from Paul Thomas Anderson.
carlzson299's rating:
Probably the funniest movie I've ever watched and the most quotable. It's hard to say whether Dumb and Dumber or The Big Lebowski is funnier but I think The Big Lebowski is my favorite. Another one were I notice something I missed every time I watch it.

Finding Nemo (2003)
I have to say, this is one of the most visually beautiful movies I've ever seen. The animation is incredible and the movie is so enjoyable.
carlzson299's rating:
Val Kilmer really makes this movie. I don't know how he didn't get nominated for some kind of acting award.

Whiplash (2014)
Though it's recent, the great performances by J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller lift this suspenseful and inspiring music drama.
carlzson299's rating:
This was a movie I didn't expect much of before I watched it. After I watched it I was just blown away. It's amazingly thrilling and great acting from Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano.

The most epic of epics. The Return of the King concludes The Lord of the Rings trilogy (the greatest trilogy ever) in the best possible way.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
Gregory Peck has probably my favorite performance by an actor in any movie. A deeply satisfying movie and a definite classic.
carlzson299's rating:
The Iron Giant (1999)
Ambitious with traditional animation. I've watched this since I was a little kid and I've loved it ever since.
carlzson299's rating:
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Horrifyingly realistic, and a great performance by Tom Hanks. The greatest movie from the greatest director Steven Spielberg.

The Green Mile (1999)
I love a movie that takes you on an emotional roller coaster and this is definitely that kind of movie. One of the few movies to make me cry. It's another greatly satisfying movie.

If there are three things I love it's Music, Sports and Movies. This is my top 30 favorite movies list, though I could make a top 50 list (maybe one day I will) I'm just going to do 30. I'm not a good reviewer but I'm going to try.
