Kino's Journey (2003)
This anime made me think a lot. It has many social issues and philosophical ideas which make you think about the world, other people and yourself. Highly recommended for everyone.

Darker than BLACK (2007)
Philosophical+dark. Makes you think about the importance of life.

Time of Eve (2008)
This anime will make you smile. Through all the hardships of a world where robotic beings are treated as slaves, a boy called Rikuo sees these robots as beings who have feelings. He sees the other side of these robots and become closer to them. The anime shows what is wrong with a prejudice society. The story is quite touching and the outcome is refreshing and relieving.

Gurren Lagann (2007)
This anime is just so awesome! Haha, one of my favourite action comedies. However, although it starts out as an action comedy, it becomes quite meaningful and thought provoking especially from the point where Kamina dies.

Grave of the Fireflies (1988)
One of the saddest real history based anime I've watched. It's a memorable anime. It's quite gory and if you don't mind tears, you should watch it. (It's not long)

[C] (2011)
Money, money, money, hahaha.
I guess this is about some problems of the main character and deals with some important themes. But there's also a bit of romance and the battles and fantasy based happenings are quite interesting.

Kuroko's Basketball (2012)
Pretty intense bballing, great if you're into sports animes, plot seems to slow down during middle areas but the comedy and tension of the anime makes it never boring.
Pc639's rating:
Great Teacher Onizuka (1999)
This crazy and hilarious guy just might be able to teach you some really important lessons. This is the funniest anime I've seen which was not made so recently. It is really interesting to watch if you can get over his perverted thoughts and frustration from the issues.
Pc639's rating:
Toradora! (2008)
Comedy slice of life, love drama, pretty plain plot but characters are interesting and lovable, leaves you happy! :)
Pc639's rating:
Usagi Drop (2011)
This is one of the happiest anime I have ever watched and it is a slice of life about a really cute girl and her guardian nephew. It's also only 11 episodes and so, it was short and sweet.

She jumped. YAY
I actually don't remember too well about this anime, I think I liked it but I should re-watch it, hahaha
It seems that it was one of the few successful pioneers of time traveling anime film at the time.

Future Diary (2011)
Two words. Fucked up.
(typical japanese psychological thriller after character build up)
gg, say good bye to your innocence. Do not start this if you don't want to have internal convulsions and brain cell explosions.

Log Horizon (2013)
normal people end up in a game and find a new world. It is quite interesting and comedic and some parts are even dramatic and intense. It obviously has a certain SAO feel to it, but it's quite different and the people come to like the world rather than try to escape it. Recommended for gamers? virtual rpg all the way

Spice and Wolf (2008)
I don't exactly know what was good about this anime, but it was. The romantic comedy with some drama about a funny but intelligent traveling merchant and a wolf god? or something.
Pc639's rating:
I'm not sure if it was the music, emotion or inspiration which caused this, but about every second episode, I'd get the chills because this is just too good. Sports anime fans out there, this is GOOD.
Pc639's rating:
Psycho-Pass (2012)
Slightly philosophical, not too dark but thematically on the heavier side. Definitely good but did not have a great impact in terms of thought processes.
Pc639's rating:
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic (2012)
Friendship, trust, not giving up, all the normal for action comedy. Light-hearted, funny, uplifting anti-depressant.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995)
This was what first got me into anime. This was first made in 1996 and it is amazing that they made this at that time. Evangelion is a pioneer of the anime genre and while the story is hard to understand, the storyline makes you think philosophically and about the human thoughts and leaves you wondering about past concepts. The fighting scenes are pretty cool and the graphic battle scenes are awesome. The artist did a very good job with the drawings and I love mecha anime. I'd recommend this to young adults, but not children.

No. 6 (2011)
This anime is very interesting and will keep you drawn in. Shion saves the life of a rebel called Nezumi (rat). Nezumi does know more about the world and has a reason why he started being a rebel of society. The main character learns of the disgusting reality of the city.

Kokoro Connect (2012)
The start of the anime really got me into it because the concept was very interesting and the characters were funny. We got to know the character and then they were making decisions to save their lives. Very meaningful and I would recommend this for all anime watchers.

Amatsuki (2008)
Tokidoki, the main character is stuck in a world of the edo period (an ancient Japanese time). He meets characters of demons and humans which both has โgoodโ and โbadโ and makes very good friends from both sides with no prejudice. But Tokidoki is forced to choose a side between the humans and the demons.

RahXephon (2002)
Ummm, confusing, frustrating, what. the. Crazy mech-like battles and some confusing romance. I liked it. Don't ask why. (Oh, maybe cause I love mecha)
Pc639's rating:
Angel Beats! (2010)
Story was a bit slow, but as there is only 13 episodes, don't worry about that part. I loved the sad heart pulling at the end and I liked the general story as well. The last few episodes really knocked me out.
Pc639's rating:
Must watch for all mecha anime lovers. For anyone else, it's generally just a very interesting anime which has intense fight scenes and very very interesting ideas and human philosophical concepts.
Pc639's rating:
This anime is also another sad and heart warming anime which leaves you longing for the characters. There were many twists in the story but this all worked out and I loved how it worked out. Menma... :'(
Pc639's rating:
Sword Art Online (2012)
Idea of virtual reality gaming was very interesting and seeing people with their own personalities becoming anime characters fighting for their lives but also showing lots of love and funny stuff. :) Highly recommended.
Pc639's rating:
Bokurano (2007)
Aiya, scary!! Not sure what made me so drawn into this... but philosophy. Even though it's like so scary and horror filled, in the end, it still made me happy for some reason.
Pc639's rating:
Btooom! (2012)
Hunger games? Battle royale? yeah, pretty much the same thing but closer to battle royale. It has the typically psychological japanese feeling to the plot. It's interesting and action packed. If you liked this, you should read battle royale. horror psychological action.
Pc639's rating:
Sometimes, I felt that the plot was going slow, but there was a lot of character building which was worth it and it was such a meaningful anime.
Pc639's rating:
Air Gear (2006)
Shit cause it stopped at episode 25. But the action was fricking intense and game-like. Very interesting, some comedy, drama, could say it's a sport anime.
Pc639's rating:
Bleach (2004)
hm, a hyped up piece of overrated anime with annoying fillers. hehe, it was pretty good when i started watching anime, but if you're already a anime fan, i think it's not for you.
Pc639's rating:
Freezing (2011)
Guess why I watched this... :D
Well, it could have been worse but it's pretty much ecchi and some weird fighting stuff.

Spirited Away (2001)
This is a classic, everyone that is into anime should watch this. I know some people say it's weird because there are weird monsters, but it's still a good anime movie and it was very well made for it's time.
Pc639's rating:
This is based on Christian belief, but I'm not actually Christian. This animated film just made a lasting impression of the things I have done wrong and reminded me about them. This was well worth the watch and I recommend it to anyone who is open minded about beliefs or are Christian.

I'd recommend this to anyone depending on what kind of genre they like. To my friends as well. I am going to mark this really hard so it can be differentiated more. The anime which I have listed which I have rated above 2.5 stars are all fairly good. Oh, and most of these are less than 50 episodes, most of them being 24 eps.
