A Half-Life fan remake called Black Mesa has been in development longer than the original game. The unfinished release was released in September 2012.

Someone's making maps for the Earthbound 0 remake remaking Mother in the Mother 2 engine.

A conversion project that looks more complete was started by Tomato (the translator of Mother 3), and is being continued by people on Starment.net.
