Alien (1979)

Founded: 20th Century
Founder(s): Charles Weyland, 'Ms' Yutani
Headquarters: Earth
Key Personel: -

According to the AvP series, Weyland Yutani were two separate companies (American & Japanese) that merged near the beginning of the 21st Century. Their encounter with an alien lifeform would create an on-going mission to capture one for their elusive bio-weapons division.

The company was so desperate to acquire a Xenomorph that it put almost any human life they could throw at it in danger. The Xenomorph is capable of wiping out entire civilisations and seeing as The Company wanted exclusive access to this, they obviously weren't the good guys.

Founded: 20th Century
Founder(s): 'The Old Man'
Headquarters: Detroit/Delta City
Key Personel: Richard 'Dick' Jones, Bob Morton
Products: Military technology, Weapons manufacturing, Urban developments
Other subsidiaries: Communications, Entertainment

OCP has much influence over any power base that it interlinks with. The city of Detroit was literally held hostage by the strangle hold of OCP. OCP was willing to ally with assassins, thugs and gang members to get all their dirty work done.

They were more concerned with negative PR than the slaughter of hundreds of innocent people which they could easily cover up. Forcibly removing people from their homes and murdering anyone who learns the truth about their 'plans' was common around the era Robocop was born.

Founder(s): Unknown
Headquarters: Neimoidia
Key Personel: Nute Gunray, Rune Haako
Products: Interstellar Trade, Medical Technology
Other subsidiaries: Droid Armies, Weapons manufacturing

Utterly sleazey and concerned for their own profits, the Trade Federation manage to have a monopoly on most, if not all, space routes in the galaxy. They were so successful that they created droid armies which numbered in the millions.

When coerced by Darth Sidious, they staged a blockade of a peaceful planet to gain further influence in the galactic senate and more profit! They eventually allied with the Confederacy in the Clone Wars to further antagonise the innocent people in the galaxy.

Founded: N/A
Founder(s): President Shinra
Headquarters: Midgar
Key Personel: Rufus Shinra, Heideggar, Scarlet, Hojo, Reeve Tuesti
Products: Mako Energy, Weapons Manufacturing, Biotech
Other subsidiaries: Private military and special forces

Originally a small weapons & energy manufacturer, Shinra hit the big time when they discovered that mako energy from within the planet could be used as a power source. Even though they were aware that using this energy was killing their planet, they decided to build more reactors!

The company was so large by this point that they officially became the world's governmental body and pretty much had infinite control over everything and anything. The majority of the executives were immoral, insane or evil which put the world's population at further crisis.

Serenity (2005)

Founded: 25th Century
Founder(s): Unknown
Headquarters: Ariel
Key Personel: -
Products: Basic Consumer Products, Computer Products
Other subsidiaries: Terraforming, Pharmaceuticals

Blue Sun seems to be incorporated into almost every planet's life in the Verse. Food, clothing and appliances are among the many products they produce for the good of the Alliance.

However, it is highly suggestive that they had a hand in the Miranda incident in which a terraformed planet was experimented on with a prototype drug to make everyone happier. However, this had an adverse effect on the population; 99.9% lost the will to live and simply stopped where they stood while the remaining 0.1% were driven insane and became space-fairing cannibalistic abominations. This was immediately covered up though. ;-)

Blade Runner (1982)

Founded: 21st Century
Founder(s): Dr. Eldon Tyrell
Headquarters: Los Angeles
Key Personel: Sarah Tyrell
Products: Replicants
Other subsidiaries: Industrial, Military

The Tyrell Corporation manufactured replicants which are a type of android. These were used to do all the unscrupulous jobs that humans wouldn't do any more; heavy manual labour, fight wars and prostitution.

The replicants were considered too dangerous for Earth and were banned to off-world planets. Although sometimes they came back. The worst part about Tyrell's creation was that he gave them emotions which they couldn't possibly control or understand, creating an unstable and lethal nemesis which held an envious eye toward humans.

Founded: 20th Century
Founder(s): Dr. Miles Bennett Dyson
Headquarters: Sunnyvale, California
Key Personel: -
Products: Cybernetics
Other subsidiaries: Engineering, Manufacturing

Cyberdyne reversed engineered products from the undestroyed exoskeleton & CPU (which they stole) from the original T-800 sent to kill Sarah Connor. Although Miles Dyson's intentions were benevolent, he wasn't aware of the future effects his developments would have on the world.

By further researching artificial intelligence he would unknowingly give birth to SkyNet, the AI computer system that rebels and destroys the world.

The dinosaurs eventually got loose and havoc ensued. Hammond was forced to step down and his deceitful, ruthless nephew, Peter Ludlow, became the new CEO. His only concerns were stock prices and was willing to put people's lives in danger for it.

Founded: 30th Century
Founder(s): 'Mom'
Headquarters: Earth
Key Personel: Walt, Larry & Igner
Products: Mom's Friendly Robot Company
Other subsidiaries: Dark Matter Control

Mom manages to fool the world into thinking she is a kind, warm granny but in fact she is an agressive, power-hungry tyrant. By having control of the world's robot population and manipulating the galaxies starship fuel, she can pretty much do whatever she wants.

MomCorp manages to remain in power even after its various coups and underhanded plots, which begs the question whether anything in the galaxy can stop it.

The mega-corporation manages to dominate its way into almost every science fiction film. A privately-owned entity that seems to have a 'get out of jail free card' as they are able to do whatever they feel like. Their wealth, resources and influence are unquestionable which usually results in corruption and unethical procedures.

I picked these ten as a basic outline of what they are capable of. I intend to expand this list quite soon.
