Characters I Feel Sympathy For

Well, neither her nor Briony are in any need of money (being British aristocracy and all that,) but it's hard not to feel sympathy for this girl. After her Dad leaves her mum, she is left in her aunt's care with her little terrors of brothers. The boys fight with Lola and run off, and looking for them she gets raped by an unknown assailant. Briony convinces her that Robbie did it, and she grows up to marry her rapist, , not knowing any better. Talk about irony!
