GREETINGS LISTAL FAMILY!!
Ok, so, I might be making this thing on a whim, I'm kind of an impulse guy like that. I haven't done one of these in quite some time and frankly I may end up regretting making this thing sometime down the line. I have an ulterior purpose for why I wanna create a list like this if my readers don't mind. I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations to my other Animated Series list. And I can't help but have this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that there may be some series or show out there that I may have missed or never heard of. So killing two birds with one stone this gives me a chance to pick Listal members' brains a little as well as give the public a voice.
The theme is pretty self-explanatory, I'm looking for all of you to submit in the comments your picks for what you think are the 10 Greatest Animated Series of All Time. Since I'm pretty much one of the first or at least most ambitious members to corner the market on this topic, I debated back and forth in the back of my mind whether I should attempt this or not? The idea is inspired by the now infamous 1001 Movies to See Before You Die book series, several authors have elaborated on this concept with spin-offs such as 1001 Albums or 1001 Places but from what I've been able to research no one has ever tried a 1001 Animated Series version.
THE RULES
Are simple, the first I've already stated in the above paragraph. Comment your top picks for the absolute greatest animated series you can possibly think of. The kind that deserve to be memorialized for all of time to see. Your #1 pick gets 10 points while your #10 picks gets 1 point. I plan, as ambitious as it may sound to take this thing all the way up to 1,001 entries, after which the show with the lowest points score will get pushed off, if there's a tie I'll make a judgement call which one I'm gonna boot.
If I fail to get a lot of traction on this thing I might open up the rules to include multiple submissions for participants, just to hopefully reach that four digit number eventually.
Just like my other animated series list I do make exceptions for shows that contain 'animated content' but might not otherwise be completely animated, for example Seasame Street or Pee Wee's Playhouse that sorta thing. Y'all can argue in the comments whether this should be excluded or not. If I get a lot of push back I'll take these shows out.
Also, 'reminder' MOVIES will not be included, that includes specials such as Frosty the Snowman or Rudolph, sorry. Each entry has to consist of at least 3 episodes to count as a series. And yes, this includes shows that may have been cancelled after 3 episodes, just as long as the show ran or released that many episodes. And yes, I will be including OVA series, so long as it's a more than 2 part saga.
WITH THAT
I hope this isn't too confusing or convoluted. I will 'try' my best to keep up with everyone's submissions but please be patient with me as I am currently dealing with a lot of health and personal issues going on in my off-line life. Story for another time. Thank you all in advance for the votes, participation, and lemme know in the comments what you think of this so far, and any constructive criticisms as to how I can make things better?
OH, AND...
I will be displaying everything in chronological order as supposed to a ranking system. Cool?
