“This was super weird. Trailers made me think it was a horror movie, and it kind of feels like one at points, but I don't think it really is. Tons of s”

" chosen by Johan Notes: To be honest, following the extremely polarizing responses towards this movie, I became slightly worried but since I'm always looking for something really challenging, this movie turned out to be the right choice. First of all, I have to admit it, it was a difficult movie to read as the whole thing was just so bizarre and chaotic and I can imagine that not everyone might be able to connect with this picture. " Notes: I have to admit it, it was a difficult movie to read as the whole thing was just so bizarre and chaotic and I can imagine that not everyone might be able to connect with this picture. But that was also the real beauty of it, the fact that you could give it pretty much any meaning you want. Indeed, someone might think that it is a story about motherhood, some others might say it is about how chaotic our society and way of life has become. “ Darren Aronofsky drops an atomic bomb on the cinematic landscape, bringing passion and artistic vision to the box office where those qualities are in short supply. Mother! might be the most well crafted, intense and creative dissection of religious mythology ever made. "09/25/17 Directed by: Darren Aronofsky I really don't know who this film is for. The entire film is allegory but its just so on the nose that there's nothing interesting for anyone following it and the narrative doesn't stand on its own so there's nothing there for anyone not picking up on the allegory. The best thing I can say about it is that it passed the time well enough. "

"SCREENING: Regular DATE: September 18th CINEMA: Showcase Cinema de Lux LOCATION: Bluewater NOTE: This is my second failed attempt at seeing a horror-type on a Sunday with friends in a row. Sunday is all my friends can manage, and Monday held bigger things for them. However, two of them arrived later than planned and the other two couldn't make it, and so we couldn't get to the screening on the dot. In fact, two of us couldn't go at all - a guy around our age was collecting tickets at the time, "

"17/9/17 Darron Aronofsky's surreal and infuriating drama with Jennifer Lawrence as a woman trying to make a home but finding that a group of strangers who walk through her door are about to turn it into a living nightmare. The first hour and half are well executed with unsettling noises and a sense of tension, then it goes bonkers nuts but the final act. Still not sure if I liked it or not."
