The Hallow update feed
“Thoughts before I watched this. 1. It seems similar to the Until Dawn game I've been playing. 2. Hooray for the Game of Thrones actors. 3. I'm wonderi”
"First viewing - June 24th The Hallow gets points for ratcheting up tension throughout the film, as well as for some memorable creature designs. The cast is solid, though not exceptional, and the story moves along quickly enough that it's consistently entertaining. It's not a great film, and I probably won't need to sit through it a second time, but I liked it well enough that it was worth checking out. Currently streaming on Netflix"
"3.1 A couple and their baby are besieged by monstrous creatures that inhabit a forest they have trespassed in. A moderately scary movie with the last stand scenario, offers good acting and modest art direction. "
"The Hallow is, if nothing else, rather pretty. The practical monsters are well designed and the shot composition is more often than not rather sharp and smart. The problems arise from the editing being kind of shit and the night scenes being very, very dark. The story has an interesting premise but doesn't go much of anywhere, even though the climax is actually rather emotional and fulfilling for such a silly story. The creatures are what you come here for, and they're all very good."
