"1.Amy Adams- ViceShe's been nominated everywhere including, most importantly, BAFTA and SAG. I'm not sure if she's winning this yet, but she'll be nominated. 2.Regina King- If Beale Street Could TalkShe missed the big precursors, BAFTA and SAG, but won both the Golden Globe and Critics' Choice Awards. While I don't know if she can overcome those big snubs as, historically, it's a tough task (just look at Sylvester Stallone a couple of years ago), it would be a shocker if she missed a nominati"
“Yorgos Lanthimos is one hell of an idiosyncratic auteur. Not just in his use of fishbowl lenses, or the darkly humorous conceits, or the generally corrosive aura that permeates every scene, but in his overall choices of unconventional, occasionally incoherent material. " Notes: Usually, I'm not a huge fan of costume-dramas but since this movie had received some great reviews, I thought it would be a rather safe choice. Well, it didn't disappoint me, that's for sure, and I would go as far as saying that it is one of the best movies I have seen in this genre. First of all, Yorgos Lanthimos delivered here a gorgeous movie shot on location with natural lights. Then, the cast was really strong, especially the 3 main actresses (Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone). Finally, it turned out to be such a fascinating tale with many layers and some complex characters. The damned thing sometimes also quite hilarious. Eventually, each time you think you have figured out one” read more
"This great movie is about Queen Anne who reigned over Britain in the early 1700's. As the movie opens, Anne is in a frail condition, while her closest confidante, Sarah, seems to be directing most of Britain's business. Then arrives Abigail, Sarah's cousin, desperately looking for a job. She gets a low-level job but it isn't long before she manages to start treating the Queen's leg sores, and before we known it, Sarah and Abigail are in a fight for the Queen's graces. This is the latest movie f"
